Today I was watching the latest (in the UK at least) episode of Chicago Fire. It led me to remembering an old TV show called 'Til Death us do part' which featured a bigot called Alf Garnett. So, you may ask, how is that connected to Chicago Fire?

Wasn't Alf the inspiration for Archie Bunker in All in the Family? I haven't seen 'Til Death..., just remember reading that somewhere.

I think you may be right, Scott. It rings a bell for me too.

I remember being at Caernarfon Castle for the investiture of the Prince of Wales in 1969. We were on holiday at the time and the weather was scorching. I hated that day. I had very sunburned shoulders and, since I was only 10, I was squashed by the crowds of people who came to witness the spectacle. All I remember of the day was the searing pain as people pushed past me. It was horrible.
