Right now I am thinking about the amazing work the Fire Brigade are doing fighting a moorland fire about half a mile from my home. I have been watching them from my bedroom window for much of the afternoon as they are run ragged in the sweltering heat fighting an enormous area of blazing heath and woodland as they drag hundreds of yards of fire hose from the appliances at the road side to fight a fire that is covering a huge area of the hillside on the other side of the valley from where I am. I cannot praise them enough.
