When I was a kid... I thought Leave it To Beaver was the way all families were... just not mine...
I'm not around much... and probably could get an argument that it's still too often...
I have socks older than Roland... I'm wearing a pair now... at the end of the line...
I've never been a big advocate for badges, rating, and/or awards based on numerical significance. It tends to become a cliquish quid pro quo process. However, I think Larry has a good idea in that since the system is already in place, the bar should be set at a reasonable height so that more rather than less members could achieve it.

I would think that 1000 views would get a badge. Therafter, 2500, 5000, 10,000, etc. A system of colored stars could be assigned to a badge as each level is obtained, ie, 5000 views could be a badge with a red star, signifying 6000 views.

One other opportunity for the site... there appears to be quite a wide margin to the right of our avatars in the forums. Perhaps our badges could be shown there as well so that other members could have a quick reference to the achievements of others.
When I began my journey into online posting of my stories and poems back in 2007, Alan was the very first person who greeted me. We've been friends ever since. He was one of the most energetic and prolific writers I've ever seen. Over the years I've watched him mature and develop into a sage and wise mentor to anyone who sought him out. I am heartbroken and vulnerable right now. I look forward to catching up to my old friend someday.

I hereby request that the works and history of DirtyMartini not be removed from this site.

I'm having the annoying problem of being able to think of things to write, but physically unable to write them.

I'm having the same problem, Andrew. That's why I haven't been on here for awhile. Hopefully some answers this week.
Life is all around you. Take a walk. Sit on a bench. Watch people. Take random pics with your phone. Sometimes my best thoughts come to me while I'm driving and a panorama of topics whisk by my windows.
Hi Gav.. can you fix it so that when I sign into SS, all my stories have been rated 5, someone pours me a glass of wine and rubs my feet? Thanks..
