Wore - Wire
Well, that's enough monkey business for now. Time for morning work. Since it's Saturday, I'm giving everything a wipe down and washing all the pots, cups, etc. Sweeping up the floors (used to vacuum but all the fur kept clogging it up). Rearrange the furniture. I think we are done with the fireplace for this year so I'll clean out the ash and get it ready for future use. Voila! Un clean cafe!
Now I get to start getting things dirty again. Putting on a pot of Blue Mountain coffee for the coffee crowd, Scottish Breakfast and Red Rose for the tea folks. Fresh iced orange pekoe tea is in the fridge. Ice cream and soda supplies looking good.
On to the rest of my Saturday. š
An ape wanders in yawning. Suddenly, he realizes he forgot to come in and open. After a moment of sheer terror, he realizes that Sara stepped in. A hug from the monkey calms him down.
Good afternoon. Been a lovely day here. Moved my office out to the deck for the afternoon. An Earl Grey and a couple blueberry shortbread cookies will go down nicely.

I sold a story to the NoSleep podcast, and it's finally out! Season 17, episode 16, I'm about 1:12 in.
Will check my podcast app for that one. It's Amazon Music so they probably have it. If not, I still have Google Podcasts tucked away on my phone as well.
I have never fared well listening to stories in an audio medium, but I've been been listening a lot to a history podcast called Fall of Civilizations which is basically storytelling, just true stories rather than fictional ones. I quite like it so maybe I am mellowing on audio.

I had good news last week that my grandson was interviewed for a good post with Nissan, the car people, and he was offered the job immediately. Doesn't start until September.
Cool. Nissan is probably a good car company to get in with since they were a pioneer in electric vehicles (the Leaf was the first to market IIRC).
Time for coffee and tea. Coffee is an Ethiopian (did you know that East Africa is actually where the plant originated?). Hot teas are Keemun and Irish Breakfast. Fresh pitcher of iced tea is in the fridge. Ice cream and soft drink stocks are looking good.
Have a good one!!
Welp, the little guy I helped spawn 23 years ago becomes a working stiff like his old man today. First day of his first career, though the employer is one he knows well from co-op.
Coffee is some Costa Rican dark roast. Teas are English Breakfast and Tetley's Strawberry black. Fresh iced tea is in the fridge. Have good one!
Beautiful weather continues. Too bad I have to spend the next three days in the office rather than working in my second home office (aka the back patio). Taking the mower in for service. It was definitely sounding a bit rough last season and needs a new blade badly. IOW, definitely spring.
Coffee is on. I went with Ethiopian today. Tea is Duke of Earl (Earl Grey with vanilla) and Irish Breakfast. Iced tea is made and in the fridge. Soft drink supply seems to be holding. Adding some flavoured soda water (similar to Bubly for those who know that) to the stock for us sugar-free folks.
Not sure how well-known or widespread trilliums are, but they are the provincial flower and symbol here in Ontario. The woods near my house where "Encounter in the Woods at Night" is set are full of them and they are now in bloom.

Just wondering why there were no Editors Picks or Recommended Reads awarded for the New Year's makeover competition? Don't we do this anymore?
Interesting. I didn't make the top ten for that one so hadn't been checking. I wonder if it's just an oversight given that we seem to be a bit understaffed here. Hope we get an answer.

Scottish tea? Whatever is the matter with you ape man. It should be English Breakfast Tea. My new pronoun is āIām offended.ā
Scottish and Irish Breakfast are my favorite breakfast teas. My local shop has a nice house blend, too, called Tea Haus Breakfast. English Breakfast is okay but I find a lot of blends too mild tasting for my palette.
Lovely weather here, too. Got some stuff down outside, rode my bike, generally had a good one.
Coffee is on. Tea is Scottish Breakfast and Sunday Tea (black tea with vanilla). Fresh pitcher of iced is in the fridge. Soft drink stock is good, nothing needed there.
Sorry I missed dumping the old cookies, Sara. Don't go in there much so kind of forgot those cans.
Saturday is cleaning day.
Wipes down the counters and tables, washes the mugs and pots, gives the floor a pass with a mop.
There, looking good for another week.
Coffee is on, with some nice Jamaican Blue Mountain beans.
Hot teas du jour are Earl Grey and Keemun.
Iced is a fine orange pekoe. Lemon and sugar are on the coffee bar if you need 'em.
I see Sarah stocked up the cookies. I've put a little something in the freezer given that warm weather seems to be here and getting warmer (supposed to be 28C here by end of next week).
