Since our photos are still public I'd like to remove them but haven't figured out how yet. It's probably obvious but I am still finding my way around. I am getting notifications now.

There is a little triangle pointing down in the top right of each picture's thumbnail. Click that and you get options to move them (to Private for instance), delete them, etc. Even an edit option that lets you rotate them.

For Mods and Admins, 2FA is a requirement.  At some point in the future though it will be a good idea to also make this available to everyone in order to increase account security.

Email/text-based or would you also support apps like Google Authenticator (which I offer as an option on the forum I admin and I also use it myself for a number of forums)?

EDIT: Okay, based on Gill's post, sounds like you're supporting Authenticator so that's a 👌 from me on that.

Okay, I've had a story published ( I think) and I've added the cover pic. But no notification has been sent/received and follower's haven't received. No note from moderator (Molly - where are you!!) I'd still like to add an audio.

Yeah, Sara and noticed yesterday that notifications weren't working. She said she was not getting notifications for followers and then I had her put a comment on my new story and I did not get any notification for that comment.

YouTube embedding is working now.

1. Tap/Click camera icon

2. Tap/Click External

3. Tap/Click YouTube

4. Paste the YouTube Share link (not the embed code like we used to use) in the YouTube URL box

(A preview of the video's cover image should appear)

5.Tap/Click Add

Update for the new SS 2.0 interface:

1. Find first post and click Quote

2. Find second post and click Quote

3. Rinse and repeat as needed.

4. Add your comments between/below quotes

Basically, each time you click Quote, it adds that post to the Write a Reply box with a space left below for your comments.

1. Go to the first post you want to quote and press Quote.
2. Select all text in the Compose window and Cut or Copy it, then Cancel.
3. Go to the next post you want to quote and press Quote.
4. Paste the quoted text from the first post into the Compose window, taking care not to overwrite the second quote.

Repeat the process with as many posts as you want to quote.
Old quote method. See the new method I posted above.

Messenger is, I think, supposed to be the chat function, but I am not sure it is working. There's an IM icon on the top left corner of profiles in your friends that I think is supposed to open a chat/instant messaging session but I couldn't get it to work yesterday. You can try. I'll be online for a bit yet.

Or are you talking about chatrooms similar to the other site rather than one-to-one?

Interestingly, if I log out and view my profile as a visitor, all images but my avatar are flagged as 18+. Two of a cake and one of a river. 😜 Likely related to the overlay somehow.

We're being presumptuous that the majority of images may not be appropriate for guests.  Of course if that's wrong, we can reassess this.
My images were of a cake and a creek. The part that was not appropriate was the URL being added by the site per my screensnip above. And I had already used the cake in a thread. If you referring to the problem of images being Public that should have been Private, deleting them would not be the solution, putting them in Private would be. Now I probably have to redo my post after I reupload the image.
I think we might be confusing 2 matters here.

I removed the images that you uploaded that were wrongly being watermarked with another website's name and URL.  I absolutely accept they were just normal images and there was nothing wrong that you did by uploading them.  It was the site being wrongly configured that cause this fault.

For guests (logged out users), all images across the site are being masked just in case they are inappropriate for visitors to see because we don't know what content they hold (they are unmoderated). However, if it's the case that actually in fact all of the images are friendly, we can reassess this and simply show them to guests.

Ah, addressing my question about the public images being flagged. Got it. that makes sense in light of other issues.

Here is the cake back (minus weird overlay). Damn I hate being in a "construction zone".😒

Whoops, well spotted.

Did you remove the images as part of troubleshooting? My gallery is empty save for my avatars (which I have now deleted since I am doing some tinkering with my ape).

Also, the comments from other members that have migrated on my profile are intended for DirtyMartini's profile page.

I had comments that looked like they were intended for Molly (or someone by that name) from users I don't even know, so probably predate my time here. Just deleted them since there were only four but, yeah, looks like profile posts got moved into the wrong profiles' comments areas or something.

FYI, just replicated using a different picture (one of a river I took near my home).

Good morning! Coffee is on, kettle is boiled, teapot is filled with Irish Breakfast. I have goodies for us to enjoy in celebration of the new StoriesSpace. Ignore the weird banner. It's been reported.

Okay, so I uploaded an image to media to use in a post. But when I posted it, it had the URL of a swinger's site appended to the bottom and my name overlaid on the image. Best way to see it is to go to Media on my profile and click on the cake to see a full-sized image. Here's a snip, though.

I see The Break Room is now visible in the forum list, so that's a thumbs up.

One thing that I hope will be a priority is smoothing out the login process. I find that after logging in, I usually have to refresh before it actually shows me as logged in, even in the PWA. And there's the issue of Remember Me not working that I already raised. Fix login and you've got a major win already.

Know what? It's a good first step. Definitely needs work, but is going in a good direction. I know I have been a bit cranky because it did not live up to my expectations, but I would encourage people to stick it out for a while and see where they go with it. There's promise here.

I see that messages are automatically moved to be deleted after 2 months. I am so in trouble on Lush if not here, I so rarely delete things and do need some of my older messages, I must do some house keeping there. Have all the pics automatically gone into the public file? I cant remember what was and wasn't public here, but I do have some in my private files on Lush that I would appreciate keeping private.

I've let Jen know that the photo thing could be a problem there and she said she would take it up with them.

And since I am trying to highlight positives, too:

The New Posts page is nice. Love it.

The My Posts page is also nice but has a bug, I think. If I click View Post on a post in it, it takes me to the beginning of the thread, not to the actual post. Which is problematic given that some of the threads I post in regularly are several hundred posts long.

Also, your quoting system needs work. I had a hell of a time editing out parts of your post that I didn't want to include in my quote. And it should only include the new content in a post in the quote, not any previous content they have quoted. No other forum software I have used other than old StoriesSpace included quotes in quoted content.

We copied the old functionality for ease of use, you see this is the problem if we had changed it people might not like it. And if we keep it the same people wan't it changed? It's unfortunately a no win situation. Like all this stuff it's a new site so give it a bit of time and if you don't like it let us know and we can stick it on the wish list and discuss it in the office.

It was something I disliked about the old site and was hoping would be fixed with more modern software. You do realize the other site involved has quoting working the way I describe, right? I was hoping the two sites would be identical going forward.

Found another thing that irks me.    No longer getting stories in my inbox here of authors that I follow. ... 😠

Likely a feature that didn't get implemented. Hopefully you posting it here will get it on the list. I second the request, though I don't use follow much myself here.

I don't think that is the case, I have just looked at around 20 profiles and most of them have private albums that I can't access. You will be able to see all of your own private pictures publicly but that is because it is your account so it could be that. But if any users think they have a fault we can check the settings from the database that we imported to double check there is not a bug affecting selective accounts.
Look, all of my pictures were put into Public even though I had some of them hidden on the old site. The fact that I have Private pictures now is because I moved them there as I was figuring things out. This is not about whether you can access Private, it is about where the pictures were put in the conversion. I know what I saw in my own profile and from what GodsAngel said, I am willing to bet that's what happened to her, too.
Quote by Mendalla

PS. I had pictures that were hidden simply because they were only on the site for use as story covers, weren't meant to be visible on my profile, and all were Public after conversion. I just wasn't too fussed about it because there was nothing terribly private, just had them hidden for convenience.

Yay, at least we can easily multiquote now. Chalk that up as a plus.
