I have fallen hard for this song of late. It's a stirring rock anthem from BC native Devin Townsend, who I am increasingly convinced is one of the great musical geniuses of my generation. While he started in metal, Devin now mixes together an eclectic range of influences, even if metal remains core to a lot of his work.

Ditto. I forget if you're a Trekkie. The original series Star Trek episode Balance of Terror, which was the first appearance of the Romulans, was basically a submarine movie in space.

Well, the weather turned out better than forecast. Rain ended by noon and the clouds broke this afternoon. Got in a nice walk to break in my new shoes even.
And came up with a new story for the comp. Just starting on it now. It's more complete in my head than the previous attempt so this is the one that might stick. Even if it is a bit on the weird side. Okay, probably a lot, but we'll see how it comes out in the end.

Back to Bond, but this actually appeared at the end of On Her Majesty's Secret Service after the murder of Bond's wife Tracey (Diana Rigg). Appropriately, it's rather soft and sombre and plays on the line he says to her as she is dying.

EDIT: One more note: This was one of Satchmo's last recordings and he was actually too sick to play the trumpet solos so someone else does (not sure who). His vocals are spot on, though.

Well, I hope somebody out there is getting sun because we sure aren't. Downright miserable out there today. And not supposed to let up until mid-week, either. Oh well, saves watering the lawn and helps gets my various plants in shape before things get dryer in the summer.
Putting on some Fire-Roasted Spring Fling medium roast in the coffee pot. Teas are Canadian Breakfast and Raspberry Royale. Cold drinks all looking good. Hot water is on for other teas and hot chocolate.
Working away on my probably, hopeful comp entry but LibreOffice (my tool of choice) wants an update first.

After some big time teasing from Nightwish this week, someone has figured out that they were likely teasing something to do with their next album happening Tuesday (4/30/24 was the date being teased in a puzzling way). No idea what. Could be a date for the album, date for first single, teaser for first single or ... well, we're all waiting to see what comes.
For now, we have plenty to enjoy until they drop that new album.

FYI, if you haven't noticed, WG's story is back up. And it is a good one. Do read. Funny thing, as I commented on the story, is that I didn't know the Detroit-Windsor Tunnel was actually that old and I have been through it. As mentioned in other discussions, I live a couple hours from Windsor and we often fly out of Detroit.

Um, that is weird. Drafts should not be visible to outside people even through a link, should they? Even mods should only see them once they are submitted.
