Make that volcano blow Ape! That's the way to end a set of stories!
LOL. This is only part 2. It'll be at least a trilogy like the Tana stories (fittingly since one of the characters is her daughter).
Life's a beach, or so some say. Singing Sands is a beach in the Bruce Peninsula and also today's coffee. Along with that, we have English Breakfast and Cream of Earl Grey teas. Cold drinks are refreshed as well.
Restarted work on the sequel to Shadows of Tan Maldrin last night, pulling together bits and pieces from two earlier attempts. I think it is starting to pick up steam now. This is the one where the setting is taking some inspiration from my trip to Iceland and a volcanic eruption might be included in the climax if I stay the current course.
Later. Have a good one!

Okay, listening to Tarja sent me off to listen to probably one the best album of her career, Nightwish's fifth album (and my personal favorite of their albums) Once. It is just one great song after another, culminating in the band's epic "Ghost Love Score" aka the song they will be playing into their graves. And it all starts with this amazing banger of an opener. Live version here is from the tour for Once, captured on film in the concert video End of An Era (so named because it ended up being Tarja's final tour with the band).
Always nice when a new job works out. Took me a couple years to settle in where I am, but all is quite well now.
After The Grotto yesterday, today our coffee takes to probably Tobermory's best known attraction, Flowerpot Island. Along with that, we have Earl Grey and Irish Breakfast teas. Cold beverages are refreshed as well, so there's unsweet iced tea, lemonade, and assorted sodas in the fridge.
Grey, damp weather around here now. Glad it at least held off until my trip was over.
Later.

A lot of the lists I put on here are about fiction markets. However, this week Authors Publish offers a list of 30 markets for creative non-fiction (though some do also accept fiction and poetry). It is not something I have really tried writing in a long time, but Ifigure some of you writers might be interested.

Good day! Back from Tobermory, Ontario and i come bearing coffee: The Grotto from Tobermory Coffee Company. I was at the site it is named for just yesterday. So that's in the coffee pot. Teas are Canadian Breakfast and Vinyl Cafe, both blends from my local shop. For those still sweltering, iced tea and lemonade are mixed up and in the fridge.
Have a good one!

That is one of my favorite adaptations.
Mine, too, though I'm meh on the "Mina is Dracula's long-lost love's reincarnation/doppelganger" element. That's actually lifted from Dan Curtis' TV version starring, of all people, Jack Palance as Dracula. But so many scenes in the Coppola hit closer to the book (he kept all the vampire hunters for one thing, something that very few adaptations have done) and, as I said, Oldman and Hopkins tearing up the screen in their roles was a delight.
Since I know Anna is quite familiar with Tarja (Turunen, but she goes by just her first name in her solo work), here's something from an interesting new live album from the Finnish metal soprano (yes, really). It was recorded a few years ago during Wacken Open Air 2016 and the album is called Rocking Heels: Live at Metal Church. It has her backed by a string trio (piano, cello, violin) for covers of bands like Linkin Park and Metallica as well as a couple of her own songs and one from her former band Nightwish.
One of the covers, "Numb" by Linkin Park
And one of Tarja's solo hits, "I Walk Alone", which is actually better suited to this treatment than some of the covers and I have heard her do an orchestral performance of it before.
Mmmmm. Beignets. apes sighs and knows what it means to miss New Orleans
Hello. Been off having adventures. Okay, not really big, splashy adventures like my last one, just visiting a part of my own province that somehow I have never been to in my 58 years of life here. Look up Tobermory on Google Maps. Some lovely scenery and good hiking. But I am now home.
Good evening (here).

Luckily I have the room to keep it, but it's fun to poke at them about getting all their stuff out of our house.
Most of what our boy still has here is toys, games, and such. It's in the closet of his old bedroom (now my office) so is out of the way. Every now and then when they are here, he will pick something up. Others, like his stuffed animals, will probably wait until grands arrive or we move out and have to dump stuff.
Good morning. There's some Nicaraguan dark roast in the coffee pot. Teas are English Breakfast and Sunday Tea. Iced tea and lemonade are refreshed.
Later.
There's rumours abounding that the ape has abandoned the cafe to the insane ministrations of Godzilla. These are not entirely true. He's just my backup. After all, if Kong and Goji can ally against MechaGoji on the big screen, surely we can run a cafe together.๐
Coffee for the day is Jamaican Blue Mountain. For teas, we have Assam Tarajulie (nice black from Northern India) and Earl Grey Cream. Pitchers are washed and refilled with fresh unsweet iced tea and lemonade. Soda stock looking good.
Sigh. Off to fight Skull Crawlers again. This constant monster x monster crap gets you down after a while.
