To distract my self, I slip into the YouTube void. I start out watching a music video and the next thing you know I'm learning how to defuse a bomb.

I think that's why I spend so much time zoned out on Youtube. You can kind of skip from topic to topic. I mostly watch science stuff and music videos but then some click-baity "Top Ten Movies that Feature Purple Crayons" stuff comes along and attracts me for reasons unknown, and probably best left that way, to humankind.

Those Top Ten Anything gets me every time. One of my favorite things to watch is where they clean old carpets or rugs. It's so gross and so satisfying. And one of my favorite channels is OddTinkering. I found it on accident from the cleaning videos. He restores old items. I love watching it go from rusted and old to brand new.
I like to read and bake. I also write and draw. I prefer pen and ink or charcoal, which can be erratic, but a good ol' pencil works just as well.

Why mess with a good thing?

Tonight it's grilled beef ribs (kalbi style) with sauteed eggplant on the side.

Trade you!
Oddly enough, I'm having the exact same thing I had above.
The Vast of Night on Amazon. I really liked this movie.

I'm watching it as well. It's keeping my interest and I'm looking forward to the next two new episodes airing.

Today I've been watching Food Networks shows I've recorded. Guy's Grocery Games and Chopped.

I cannot believe that the season is almost done. It's too short.

At the moment it's Paranormal Caught on Camera. It's muted, but it's on.
I AM encouraging everyone to tell at least one person about the contest.

The 1998 remake of Psycho with Vince Vaughan and Anne Heche.
What were they thinking? They used the same script almost verbatim. It did not work. The casting choices were odd, even though they are all good actors it came across as forced. Another remake that I ended up laughing at.

This! Also...

They are two of my favorite movies so these remakes make me ranty. I know it's not normal for a movie to make you mad, but they both do. Probably Psycho more than Halloween, but barely. They took the heart of them.

Psycho, Norman Bates was slight and unassuming. You never would have been afraid of him. I'm sorry, Vince Vaughan is not a slight man and he is intimidating. Whoever thought he could pull off unassuming is insane. There is more, but I'll go to the next.

What makes Halloween so scary and hands down on the best horror movies is that Michael Myers is born twisted. He had a good home life, two loving parents and an older sister. There was no reason for him to have snapped, but he did. The remake has Michael Myers a product of his environment. They are poor, neglected, and abused by his drunken stepdad. Eventually, he snaps.

Being born a monster is far more frightening than being made.
I AM kind of grumpy. Today definitely requires headphones.
I was talking about this the other day. This movie is so good and the soundtrack is amazing, but the timing of its release and all the scandals surrounding it tainted it.
The Alienist: Angel of Darkness

So far it's been good. I really enjoyed the first season.
