Hi, Verbs, nice to see you here.

My son sent me some pictures of his new digs and the view from his place. He can see the ski resorts above Vancouver and looking the other way he can see down into the city center. He can't wait until he is out of quarantine. He will have a week to explore before his new job starts.

I hope everyone is having a good Wednesday. I'll raid the cookie jar, thanks, Sarah.

Cheers!

I had to take a breath of relief at your son's safe arrival. We didn't want to have the Snow Patrol out trying to find him. Phew! And his apartment sounds wonderful. My Arizona-native niece lives in Victoria and I envy her the beauty of that part of the country. Hope your son loves his new job.

Hi everyone. Hope you're all doing well.

I actually had a nice day today, thanks to the lockdown, believe it or not!

I had to take my car for a service which would take about two hours. Due to Coronavirus safety rules, there was nowhere available for me to wait. The nearby McDonalds was open for takeaway only and the garage was a couple of miles out of town.
So how is any of that good? I hear you ask. Well, although cold, -1c, the sun was up and the sky clear and blue. I took a stroll along the nearby canal towpath. I took some beautiful pictures and even found a memorial to the crew of a WW2 Wellington bomber which had crashed nearby due to a wing failure on a training flight in 1943.

On the way back, the sky darkened and it began to snow. Damn! I was in heaven! The water of the canal was frozen and snow covered. The flurry didn't last long but was enough to put the icing on my cake.
So you see, folks. When the world is in darkness, you can never tell when a moment of light will brighten you life.

I hope you all have a moment in your lives which brings you the same joy and peace that I have felt today.

This is delightful Anna, I'm so glad you were dressed warm for the unexpected lovely walk. The picture is beautiful.

Salutations to all!

In my yard, we got 12cm of snow yesterday. The snowfall stopped last night, bringing our three day total to 58cm. After the snow ended, the temperature plummeted to -22℃ windchill.
Liz is snoring away across the room in the bed. She did not go to work today because she is not feeling good. I rubbed her back for a few moments and said to her, "you feel great to me."
I was quickly removed from the bed, and I am seated at my computer in the dark, being very quiet.
I could use a hot cup of tea, Earl Green, if you have it, and a biscuit. I will bring some honey on toast and a batch of ambrosia (oranges, pineapple, shredded coconut, maraschino cherries, and miniature marshmellows-optional).

Oh this is so funny! I love it. We women can be so evil. I will be chuckling about this for a long time.

What I wouldn't give to be snuggled up with Jane right now. It's pretty much all I can think about today. I...I guess I need her more than usual, if that's even possible.

I just enjoyed watching Jane on "Finding Your Roots" on PBS. I hope you can watch it. It was adorable.

ROLAND! having you back among us is a major goodness. Looking forward to reading your work, once again. smile

Your inattention, please:

Here is what bodes well to become a one-time-only, Inspirations Word-of-the-Day.

retromingent

First stumbled upon this word while reading a Charlie Sykes article that described Sean Hannaty of FoxNews as a, "retromingent propagandist"

The correct, non-disparaging definition of 'retromingent' is a creature that urinates backwards. Examples include: camels, hippos, and male cats.

Just another fine, free, unasked for service of the Inspirations Department of Unrequested Absurbities.

Later, Inspirators.

I love the services of the Inspirations Department of Unrequested Absurbities - this is a word I have often searched for and now I have it...thanks to our wonderful Department.

Sometimes I can't believe that Jane was able to sweep me off my feet with something as simple as a wink - especially when it feels like I've been floating ever since.

Her wink is not to be denied. Can't blame you for floating. Did she by chance crook her little finger at you?

Hello to all my Story Space friends. I have been gone for too long.

My current condition is not too bad, and I am still breathing and smiling. That is great considering I am three years past the average lifespan the doctors initially gave me,

I have been trying methods to be able to write and make sense. If what I write does not always seem right, please let me know my mistakes to remedy that in the future.

I have been reading your writing for most of the time I was 'gone.' Now I hope to mingle again, and I may submit some pieces if they come out good enough.

I hope to be here with you for a little longer, which makes me very happy.

Dear Roland, I was so happy to see you back and even more to read this. I look forward to you writing something for us. And even if it is just telling us what the weather is doing, we'll all be interested. This is in truth a happy happening to have you with us.
I had pretty much the same day as Sara. Late getting up and not a lot accomplished. I don't know if any of you are friends with Golf-Nut on that other site. Keith has been nursing his wife for over a year and she just passed away. Some of his friends are expressing condolences on his profile page.

And of course, yesterday was our dear Henrietta's birthday. Shy and modest, but one of our favorite people. I do hope her day was one of great fun.

hi everyone
A chilly but sunny day here
A large iced coffee sounds yummy in the tummy.
Lots of cookies to choose from
*peeking in the cookie jars *
Giggles we need blankets in here for nap time
*puts some comfy overstuffed chairs in the corners and putting comfy chairs around the tables *
Stay safe everyone!

Sara, that was the finishing touch to lure me to the coffee house even if I don't have exciting things to talk about. That wonderful coffee and delightful varieties of teas, the cookies I have been sneaking in an stealing....and now butterscotch marshmallow bars! Every cookie you make it so delicious, but you have outdone yourself with the butterscotch marshmallow bars.
Then, to top it all off you bring comfy chairs and blankets and quilts.
But I warn you, once I get comfortable I may just fall asleep and never leave.
Just wanted to say thank you and Bill and Scott and Larry and all who make this such a happy place. See you all later.
