Owww yessssss! Great avatar btw Rebs, love the ears

You are right about her new avatar. I wanted to use my face as my avatar, but the site rejected it for being too obscenely vile and monstrous. So move along before I look at you.
I wouldn't dare put my face here as an avatar, I don't want to cause your screen to crack

Just saw this. Very good. Thank you Rick.

Thanks for reading, Roland. Dad had a lot more about him than many folk knew. This sure surprised me.
I've been reading this threadand I really enjoyed thewritings of your parents. It's great, that even people that are so close, can still surprise you with the beautiful things they created.

Right, so I write a poem, designed to make people cry. What happens? The buggers laugh. Why? Do you not get that there's a poignancy to death, and to the poem? The man is in the ground for goodness sake! Yeah, it's absurd, but that doesn't mean that absurd can't be poignant. I do write absurd and silly things, but not all the time. Sometimes I am being serious, and I'd really like people to stop trying to fit me into a genre. I'm not funny. Not intentionally. Sometimes my poems and stories take a bit of interpretation, so maybe bear that in mind next time you read something of mine.
I am really sorry Andrew, but the smile it gave me, wasn't because of what you said with that poem, because I did take that seriously. Still, I can't help enjoying the way you describe even the most serious things, hence the smile.

Bummer! I want to score and comment on LarryFNigh's work, because I really like it, but for some reason, I can't.

I am so glad I could help get this taken care of. I feel almost useful for a change. It has been a while since I felt useful.
Thanks again Roland. I owe you one.

From underneath

I'm under the bed.
An old shirt in hand.
The scent welcoming and strong.

I close my eyes.
Block out the lies.
Pretending nothing is wrong.

The shirt dries my tears,
That nobody hears.
Wishing once again I was home.

Holding you near,
Calming my fear.
Even though I am actually alone.

You're doing it again, writing beautiful poetry that should be on the main page, and putting it in a forum instead. Rebs, share it.

I am sharing it! Lmao!
Excellent!

Speed boat or Sail boat?

Speed, almost nothing beats the sensation of sitting on the side of a zodiac with 200 HP on it's tail, going full speed over the ocean, while up to a hundred dolphins jump and swim alongside so close, you can almost touch them.

Tango or Rumba?

In march of that year, settlers from Sweden arrive on the ships Kalmar Nyckel and Fogel Grip to establish the settlement of New Sweden in Delaware, beginning the Swedish colonization of the Americas.

No and no

Do you believe in magic?
Actually, I do believe in miracles, though not in the religious sense. Every child, its conception and the way it grows into a complete human being in the womb, is a miracle in its own right and I've had the priviledge of experiencing that several times.

Magic on the other hand, no, I don't believe in magic, not in the Harry Potter way. On the other hand, I am under the spell of a beautiful woman, my wife.

Not that I'm suffering from one, but what is the best cure for a broken heart?

That is how I approached it once when posting limericks, but the truth is, that you don't have to join to be able to read the forum entries.

True that, so consider that when posting in the forum that everything you say is basically public...so while we don't have an actual rating system for forum posts, consider that anyone...your mother, your boss, your co-workers, your wife, your sister...anyone...can come along and read whatever you post here...

That fact tends to keep most people in line, and prevents most people from spewing off rants and insults or whatever at others, because most people realize stuff like that only makes them look like immature idiots...and for the most part, that works to the extent that the forum is somewhat self-policing...

Occasionally we get people who act a bit immature, and that's where the mods may have to step in...but really, for the most part people realize that everything here is public and can be viewed by anyone with an internet connection and behave accordingly...
Agreed, most of it anyway. Not everything a moderator acts upon is immature though. I simply misjudged the limits of forum entries, by making the same assumption Roland made. And I do think there are some double standards here. Avatars are public domain too, and one of the moderators here (Gav) has an avatar that in my view is downright obscene. I have never heared or seen any complaints about that.
Stop! Nobody move! Just sit still and let me take this spot back.
Realism, more particularly Hague School, which initially was like the weather often was, somber and grey, but becane more colorful under the influence of French impressionism.

Bach or Mozart?
Move! This spot ain't big enough for the both of us!
