Yesterday's snow never materialized, which is a good thing. Partly sunny outside, and nice.

I made shaved beef sandwiches last night. Lotsa mushrooms and peppers. Basically Philly cheesesteaks without the cheese. smile They were REALLY good. Talia was impressed.

Lazy day today. Not even bothering with the game - I need to see one where the wins and losses count. Soon.

Molly the monkey ate all my cookies yesterday. Can I have all hers today?

Coffee would be awesome.

I'm a big NO in the pineapple on pizza debate, though one of my daughters loves it. She had a good upbringing, I don't know what happened to her.

Bill: Talia and I are fine here in the wilds of Colorado (I saw you ask elsewhere). HUGE snowstorm, and I had to do some driving in it yesterday, but I survived unscathed. Snow is melting rapidly today, although it's supposed to snow AGAIN tonight.

Watching baseball and getting ready to write. Spring training is getting boring: I need the REAL THING! 14 days.

I've got a short story coming out on Amazon Thursday. Anyone know if it's cool to mention here? I don't want to break the rules.

Sorry about the weather you are about to get, Sara. I'll add insult to injury and take a huge handful of cookies as I politely ask for a cup of coffee.

Jeff, there is a special forum area for posting about your publishing accomplishments. It is this: https://forum.storiesspace.com/yaf_topics18_Sing-Your-Own-Praises.aspx

That place was created just for posting about your special publishing efforts in addition to announcing the posting of a new story if you wish.

Time for my last cuppa coffee.

Thanks Larry. I'll post it there on Thursday.

That mischievous lil monkey ate ALL the banana cookies! It wasn't me!!! Can I have some more please?

Morning to all confused daylight savings timers. You'd think I'd enjoy these time changes if only because Arizona does not observed daylight savings since the prevailing opinion is that the last thing needed around here is more daylight. While that is, imo, a goodness, the downside is the Pacific Coast time zoners have done gone and sprung forward. Bottom line is we're on the same time as California and three hours behind east coast time. (sigh)

Here's hoping the rest of y'all enjoy all that extra sunshine.

Jeff, what's the 'sick call' like today in your place?

Coffee's cooking and the tea kettle is, what else, kettling. Sarah's baseball themed sugar cookies sound perfect for serious coffee dunkin'. Think I'll grab a few, then fill my mug with the good stuff and go sit in a comfy chair near the heater.

Later, Inspirators.

Talia is fine, she just had a headache of unknown origin that stole away her Saturday. I took care of her, we watched movies and old TV shows. Things cleared up the next day.

Not much up here. I submitted the first two chapters to the novel critique group. Now I have to wait a month, nervously, to hear their reaction.

No Mets game. Sigh. The REAL THING starts in 15 days though.

Coffee and a banana cookie please. I'll split my cookie with that cute lil monkey.

Hi everyone
A beautiful day here!
A large iced coffee sounds yummy in the tummy
*moving the old cookies to the emergency cookie tins behind the counter and filling the cookie jars to the tippy top with fresh cookies *
Today's offerings are baseball themed sugar cookies :baseballs, mitts, baseball caps and bats
Jeff you can keep the snow...
Larry yay for setting up your next shot
I need to look into the shots..

*giving the adorable mascots fresh water and treats *
Stay safe everyone!

BASEBALL THEMED COOKIES!!! I'll take a handful please.

My novel critique group went well. I still feel like kind of an imposter in there, they are all SO good, but they seemed to like my critique. They look at my writing for the first time next month. I'm a little scared.

Anyway. Talia woke up with a horrible headache, and its snowy and cold out, so I think we are going to seriously chill for the rest of the day. Maybe the rest of the weekend.

Take care all. I'd love a decaf coffee to go. Time to tend to my amorata.
The game is starting as I type these words! Let's go Mets!

Larry, I have been lazy in seeking out a Covis shot. Talia has registered already, though no shot yet. I haven't done squat, but will figure it out next week.

Big snowstorm hitting in about 8 hours. I'm gonna write ALL DAY LONG. We'll snuggle up in front of the fireplace this evening as our date night. I have a novel critique group tomorrow, and I'm a little nervous (I'm not being critiqued, I'm just critiquing).

A coffee and a baseball cookie, if there are any (and if there aren't, can you please make some Sara?).

And figure out what happens when a small nuclear bomb is dropped into a volcano.

Isn't your avatar the answer? I.e. Kaiju get unleashed.

Sounds like an interesting story. I am writing again but the story is being unusually resistant to my efforts to make the scenario sensible without a raft of expository paragraphs.

Turns out not that much happens. If you drop a bomb in an active volcano it'll just melt. Who knew? If you detonate just above the volcano, it'll shear off the top half of the mountain and evaporate the lava, and they'll be a really deadly plume, but it's a pretty local effect. EMP and radiation and it'd be awful for anyone/anything in the way, but nothing close to world ending.

Except for ALL THE KAIJU DEATH BATS it unleashes! You didn't think I'd pass up an opportunity for kaiju, did you? smile

I'll have another one of those marshmallow bar/cookies and a coffee while I hang out with my little monkey friend (not a euphemism).

Have an excellent day everyone.
I'd love a butterscotch marshmallow bar cookie. Is it both a bar AND a cookie?

No Mets game today, at least not one I can see or hear. Roland, they are making a bunch of weird rule changes, but I don't know of that one. The one that gets my goat is the runner automatically on second once a game goes into extra innings, at the beginning of every half inning, Grrrrr....

I went to the dentist this morning, fully expecting a root canal. He said to wait and see, the minor toothache I have may go away on its own. Yay!

Time to write. And figure out what happens when a small nuclear bomb is dropped into a volcano.

Coffee and that aforementioned cookie please. Now where did my little monkey friend go? I LOVE monkeys.
Mets got a come-from-behind win! Good exciting game!

Coffee and cookies are on me! And some treats for our cute lil monkey friend!

Well, I finally got around to making some coffee. It was a good thing no one else was thirsty this morning. Now I need to get over to the pharmacy. I have a couple of prescriptions that I need to pick up. Everyone have a good day.

I'll take some of that coffee!

I have a toothache sad. Just made an appointment for 11 tomorrow. I don't like the dentist, but I like toothaches even less.

As for today: Mets Spring training game at 11, and the last 15 pages of the latest story to edit and sweat over, and consider turning into a novel.

Coffee and a cookie from the emergency cookie jars (which are alleged to be filled to the tippy top!).

Have a good morning all.
Congrats on the girlfriend, Xander.

We won't be in the high 80s, like Bill, but we crept past 65 degrees. Spring is in the air.

Long frikkin day, with several hours to go. I think the time for coffee has passed, but I'd love a iced tea and a gingerbread lady cookie.

I hope everyone is well.

Well, that lil monkey and I have some things in common! I love banana cookies too!

My dose of weirdness for the day: I got an email invite to a "telephonic thriller" where, if you buy a $35 ticket, you will get a phone call at a pre-determined time, which you are supposed to answer in a dark room, by yourself. It's supposed to be Twilight Zone-y and scary. I'm pretty sure it's legit, a theater is sponsoring it. I think we're gonna do it. Probably on speakerphone. smile

No Mets game today.

I am a no on the espresso machine. I am happy with the current cuppa joe.

Coffee and a banana cookie please. And one for my new little monkey friend.

Pretty gutsy to sign up for the "telephonic thriller". I have fingers crossed that it will be well done and with theater backing, it should be. Please keep each other safe.

And I vote no on the espresso machine for myself only. If someone else wants to come in and brew some, fine with me.

There's even a safe word :), for if you get too scared during the call. They asked for my pronouns too, meaning they must personalize the experience in some way. Anyway, I'm psyched.

So cool to be writing with the game on in the background. Talia and I are going out to buy a new rug for my office later!

Got a story rejected this morning. Via form email, no less. sad

Coffee and a peanut butter and jelly cookie would be heaven.

There's a monkey in here? I would gladly hang out with a monkey.

Hoooo, yesterday was a day. Glad it's over. Let's hope today treats me better.

Haven't written a word this week. The real world is not letting me. But at least the Mets won yesterday, and there is a game today, and the cookies look tasty, and the coffee smells heavenly. And apparently there is a monkey in here! So the day is already improving.

Hey Larry, Bill, Roland, Scott, Sara, Elizabeth. What a pleasant group of people. Enjoy your day!
Thanks for the set-up, Larry.

Just finished my virtual sesh with my therapist. Ready to begin the day.

Mets lost yesterday but have a 1-0 lead right now. So nice to write with baseball in the background.

I hope everyone is well. I'd love a coffee and a cookie. Any butterscotch marshmallow crunch left?

Good morning, Inspirators. I have the coffee on the stove along with the tea kettle.

The Padres had their first game of Spring Training yesterday against the Mariners. It was good to see Tommy Pham playing, coming back from being stabbed in the back in October. It would be nice to be out in Peoria, Arizona to soak up some of the spring training warmth and sunlight just like Victor is doing now on the futon.

You have a tough division this year. The Dodgers are kinda the new Yankees. I'm listening to the Mets game now, as I prepare to write. It's like seeing the first robin of Spring.

Say hi to Victor.

Not much else going on. There's a warming trend here, so all that snow is melting.

Coffee and snickerdoodles please.

hi everyone

1st day of SPRING TRAINING!

I have fresh cookies today
*moves the old cookies to the emergency cookie tins behind the counter and filling the cookie jars to the tippy top with fresh cookies *
In Big Bird we have pecan divines, sesame seed tea cookies, raspberry hazelnut cookie and butterscotch marshmallow crunch cookies
In Cookie Monster we have snickerdoodle, butterscotch marshmallow crunch cookies, orange vanilla chip cookies and white chocolate coconut cookies
*giving the adorable mascots fresh water and treats *

Stay safe everyone!

FIRST DAY OF SPRING TRAINING! I watched an inning of Dodger's baseball this morning. I expect Sara's Braves to take the division, but my Mets and Elizabeth's Nats should be in the running too. I'm psyched to watch tomorrow's METS game.

Chill day today. Write/edit/critique. Talia is going to cut my hair today! I'm way more excited at this than I should reasonably be. Cheap thrills during the coronavirus. We're also waiting for Trump to speak, which should be interesting (you'll hear no politics from me beyond that). He's seven minutes late!

Enjoy your day everyone.

Coffee and a cookie please!

It's epistolary fiction! I'm no mod, but that's fine in my book. I wrote one last year. Granted, it was about monstrous dragon-y things swooping down on a suburban neighborhood and exacting revenge, but still.

Hmm. Well, mine is really more in the form of a love letter so you can see why I'm confused.

Epistolary means made of letters, so I'm sure love letters would work for a love story. Try it!

More coffee! More cookies! Please.
Quote by itsxanderkaidyn
Do unsent letters count as musings? Cause I wrote something and that seems like the right category but it's in the form of a letter so I wasn't sure.

I did indeed reach THE END in the current story. I might take the leap and turn it into a novel now. Gonna take the weekend to mull it over.

In the meantime, coffee and a snickerdoodle would hit the spot. Snow is melting, baseball is imminent, and all is right with the world. At least for the next few hours.

Hi ya, Jeff. Good coffee, Larry. Now that all the excitement of getting my second covid vaccine shot, life has settled back down into the normal uproar interspersed with occasional outbreaks of tumult and shouting.

That's okay by me. With Larry's coffee, Sarah's cookies and Jeff's wit and wisdom life is good in Inspirations. ;)

Supposed to nudge 80f this afternoon. Think I'll take my coffee and cookies outside and wait for the hot time.

Later, Inspirators.

I find you are such an upstanding gentleman (regardless of sly whispers) for not shouting out about your temperature today. And congratulations on that second shot and surviving the dread of the after effects. I think it has made you even more handsome if you don't mind me saying.

New you:

Bill is Hud? I can see it. Love that movie btw. The book too. Larry McMurtry. He gave me a stink look one time in his bookstore in Archer City, Texas.

It snowed five inches last night. Don't think we're due for any more today. Sorry, Sara. Here, you can have the sports section.

Chasing The End again today. I think I'm like 3 paragraphs away. Tune in tomorrow!

Thanks for the cookies, Sara. Coffee would be a blessing.
Thanks for getting the coffee going Larry.

My wife just woke me up in a panic over some computer issue. I calmly walked downstairs and fixed everything in like 2 minutes. So now I am the HERO of the day in this house!

It's a bright sunny day outside. Sadly, snow is supposed to be coming in soon. (Sorry Sara.) 3 to 5 inches.

Still trying to finish the story that will not end. Maybe today.

Coffee and a cookie would rock.
Good morning everyone. I'd love a cookie, Sara.

Spent most of yesterday writing, and hope to spend most of today too. I'm gonna sit down at the table with Larry and Bill and read the paper for a bit first.

I hope everyone is doing well. Could I have a coffee please?
Quote by Survivor

Thanks for the fresh cookies, Sara. I've just submitted a new microfiction for approval so I think Victor and I will take a nap.

Take care, folks.

Looking forward to reading the story, Larry.

After a bad sleepless bout Saturday night, I slept about a million hours last night. Feel good, if a little groggy.

Gonna try yet again to finish a story I tried to finish all last week. It just keeps getting longer (that's what she said) (sorry).

First Spring training game is 6 days away!

I'd love a coffee and a cookie.

If any baseball junky drops in, y'all let 'em know that the college baseball season is getting started today, though it will b fitfully for now.

Later, Inspirators.

Baseball junkie reporting as ordered, sir. We used to go to CSU Pueblo games. Now we are resigning ourselves to watching the Rocky Mountain Vibes, easily the worst team name ever. But the ballpark is close, and I love minor league ball, so I expect we will go. More importantly, the Mets are coming to Denver in mid-April, and I have already extracted a promise from Talia that we will go.

Coffee would be a winner.
Sausage. Unless the hot dog is a chili dog.

King Kong or Godzilla?
Good morning all. Snow is beginning to melt away, and the temp has climbed into the 40s, and baseball is near. Ah, Spring, you are near!

Gill, I understand the quiet of the empty nest now, but it's not bothering me (maybe because Talia is always stomping around smile ). I love waking up to an empty nest! So far, anyway. Maybe I'm just contrary.

Very few chores to do today. I have an outside chance of finishing a new story, about scary bat-like things pouring out of the crater of Mount Rainier!

I'd love one of Sara's cookies, and of course, coffee would hit the spot.
I loved Russian Doll (so did the late great Ping, who turned me on to it).

Currently watching WandaVision (awesome), Euphoria (good), and old reruns of The New Adventures of Old Christine. Recently finished off Pretend it's a City (awesome as well!).
I am seriously psyched for Kong vs. G-man. I'll drag Talia (I think that's her name on here) out to an actual theater for this one. I really miss movie theaters.
