Figure skating. I soured on hockey long ago. Though with local favourites Virtue & Moir (ice dance) retired from competition, I haven't watched much figure skating of late, either.

Of those two, and assuming we are talking museums, natural history (which is science to a point).

Modern art gallery or something more historical (say, the Met vs. MOMA in NYC)?

Art isn't really my thing. I like art as decoration, such as in a palace, but wouldn't go to a museum purely to look at pictures.

Paintings - Landscapes or People?

Landscapes. Grandad was a landscape painter (hobby, not primarily an artist) and I have always been fond of the Group of Seven, a school of Canadian landscape painting.

Oil or watercolour?

Oil, although I have seen some excellent watercolours

Constable or Picasso?

While I do like Pablo in his way, I love Constable's moody landscapes, so him.

Painting or sculpture?

That is a hard one. I will fall on the side of painting, purely because the range of subject matter is so much greater.

Diesel/Electric locomotive or Steam locomotive?

Steam has the romantic history associated with it but a modern diesel/electric will get you there a lot faster. So I guess it depends why I'm on a train ride, nostalgia for a time I never really knew or to get somewhere.

Snowblower or shovel? (yes, this question crossed my mind the other day as I dug out)

I've never used a snowblower, but I'll have to choose it because my Canadian family insists it is the way to go for snowy winters.

Gloves or Mittens?

Gloves mostly. I tend to find mittens too restricting but there are times when I find them useful.

New Year's party or just enjoy the holiday at home?
