Tobogganing if I must do either. At least then I am sitting down and my crappy sense of balance isn't in play. Both involve going downhill at high speed which freaks me out.

Shovel. Better exercise.

Cross country ski or snowshoe?

Hm. Never X-country skiied so probably that. Though I have not snowshoed since my school days and I hear there's some nice snowshoes on the market now, better than the traditional ones we used back then.

Live my life,quietly and unnoticed. You can make your mark in the small things you do for others, one person at a time.

Eat. Turkeys are a lot of work.

Maybe ham. I've been feeling turkey'd out in recent years. And I'm talking Christmas since Canadian Thanksgiving is now well behind us.

Escaping Winter: Take a cruise or stay at a resort?

Cruise! Never been on one.

Winter: stay inside or enjoy the cold and snow?

Personally, neither cruise nor resort. Prefer to have an intimate get together with my husband and daughters. But if I had to choose, resort. At least we can get away from the crowds.

Ski resort or beach resort?

Verbs: I get out now and then in winter but mostly stay inside.

I get bored too easily for beach holidays but, if pressed, I prefer to stay dry.

All included or self-catering?

All included. I don't want to make decisions on vacation.

At home New Years celebration or attend a party?

At home. My mother was actually born on New Year's Eve so it was always a family night at home for her birthday and I guess the habit stuck. The only time I have been out for New Year's is if I am on vacation over the holiday, which has happened a couple times.

Healthy Party tray... along with chips (crisps?) and dip.

Egg Nog or Mulled Wine (Glühwein)

Mulled wine sounds nice. I like nog, too, but it's a bit rich for my blood and my friend's egg nog spoiled me for any others. It was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good. (yes, rum was involved, why do you ask?)

Fake, real ones trigger my allergies.

Just family, I'm not a fan of crowds.

Chill out. I hate crowds too.

Christmas Cake. Haven't really had a good one since Mom died (she made it every year).

Wrap gifts if possible. Gift bags buy into our society's inate laziness.

Stay inside when it's cold or dress warmly and enjoy nature outside.

How cold are we talking? I was out in single digit weather yesterday, but once we get much below freezing (I'm talking Celsius, by the way), my inclination to do so drops noticeably unless there's a good reason to do so (e.g. when my kid was little and I took him tobogganing or to an outdoor rink for skating).
