Hey, one of those was from me, Violet...

And while I am not sure what button I pressed, I do like what I have seen smile  You know you really are a hot item, giggles, and rushing off, something else on my mind :)

Thanks Baronvonmonty for removing this, I am teasing Violet. :)

Oh hey there!
I've been checking out your stories and I like what I've seen, why don't you take a look at mine to see if we click?
Hope to hear from you soon. 😉 I'm happy you liked my pg13 and g rated stories here.

Apparently, it's what the 'Wink' button sends.

Ah, that's what that is. I read about it upthread and was a bit perplexed since I had no idea where it was coming from.

Small suggestion (and it is merely a suggestion, not something that needs to be fixed, and if others disagree, I'm cool with that): In the little profile bubble that comes up when you hover over someone in the forums, instead of gender (or in addition to it) put their forum title. That's generally closer to how people want to identify on a forum like this.

Another little glitch with notifications: I notice that sometimes I am getting two notifications for the same event. For instance, marleyadmin just liked a post. I got two notifications about them liking my post, but when I check My Comments, there's only one Like there. Usually seems to happen when I am on site. If there are notifications waiting when I come in, there usually aren't dups. Also, seems to be mainly with Likes so far. Can't recall getting one for a reply or watched thread notification.

Hi guys,

So I have a number of unpublished stories and I can only get to the first page (out of 4). How do I get to page 2? It keeps snapping me back to Page 1 of my published stories?

Please help.

I noticed the same. Two notifications about a story being verified.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before or not:

Stories: On the other one, when you have read a story it is sort of greyed out. That way you can scroll down to the first non greyed out one to read next. Being a pensioner I need all the help I can get! Or is there a way to see if you have already read a story?

Forums: Is there a way to scroll to the last post or even page you read? I never went on the other one's forums but I am on another forum and it puts a blue line under the last post available the last time you visited that topic.

Thanks.

Getting used to it.

How do you add an author ebook? I can’t see any add button in my settings. Is it hiding somewhere?

There’s a problem with poems when they’re listed on the front page eg.

“I wish I could tell you The things I hide inside Lay out my broken parts  For your eyes to see. I wish I…”

I’m technologically challenged so I don’t know what the &nbsp is, but it shouldn’t be there. The poem looks fine when you click on it.

Non-breaking space. It's rendering a character that is normally invisible (similar to a line or page break) into its text representation. I think this has been noted before but it has been a while so good to call it out again.

There appears to be an issue where followers are not notified by email when a new story is published. Has anyone else seen this?

On the previous incarnation of this site, on the home page, the stories had a square beside the title showing the number of votes. Below it was indicated whether you had voted or not. That seems to have disappeared now, and I can see no indication of whether I have read/voted.

Number of votes is the first icon in this row, which appears below each story in the list. You can see what each of the icons means by hovering over it. Agreed on not being able to see from the Stories list whether you have voted on a story. Would be a good addition. Could just make the votes icon a different colour if you have voted or something like that.

Also, it no longer locks the voting after you vote so you can change your vote at any time (old site locked it and you needed to get a mod to change a vote). Not sure if that's a good thing or not.

Also, the row below looks different in My Stories than on the Stories page. Information is the same and in the same order, but icons are slightly different  in My Stories and it also lacks the "on hover" explanations.

etairay just asked about being able to suppress signatures in the forums. It's making for a lot of scrolling on her device. Would be a good idea. I know I've seen the feature on other sites. Xenforo, the software I am most familiar with, actually suppresses them by default on small screens like phones but we don't need to go that far. Just being able to click a "Show Others' Signatures" switch in Forum Settings or some other appropriate place would be sufficient, I think.

Another small thing, just for the sake of convenience. Would it be possible to have the Previous and Next buttons at the top of the page as well as at the bottom?

When working back through forum posts, it just saves scrolling back to the bottom to move backwards or forwards.

I discovered , just before the change over, that you could change your story vote. You just had to know how. 😊

Yeah, I no longer get notification PMs for authors I'm following, but my story getting published showed up in the notification bell.
There's also no notification when someone you sent a friend request to adds you as a friend.
On the previous site, a short message was required when you sent a friend request as well.

Another to add about the IM messenger on my desktop (Mac Os). When I go to the home page, my online status doesn't show up, as in it's not giving me the spinny loading thing, the icon isn't there at all. Same on the forums. But in my PMs and when I'm on my profile page it loads properly.
It also doesn't always load my friend's avatars and just has the generic one, but when I check their profile, they have their own avatar there.

I have discovered that there doesn't appear to be a way of uploading one's own photos to forum threads. The camera icon offers only pictures from profiles or online links/youtube.

Yeah, you have to upload them in your gallery or have them on an image site (if you use External) first. Bit of a nuisance that I hope gets fixed eventually.

Further to this, when looking at, followers, I noticed this at the top:

Whenever you upload a new photo your followers will get a notification.

Shouldn't that read, story rather than, photo? Maybe that is the issue?

I've just realized I can copy-paste directly from other people's stories, not just the story preview. I know previously, this wasn't possible.

That might be a serious issue, in terms of people's work getting stolen (particularly at other sites). Not that being copy-protected ever stopped plagiarizers in the past.

True, but best make to it more difficult and re-add copyright information at some point.

The emoji dropdown box is pretty nifty in the profile page area. I like a lot of the retro gifs, but, for lack of a better way of saying this, some are more suited for a different site. I hope you don't get rid of the safe-for-work ones, but the other ones... lol. 🤣🤣🤣

Sorry to update this again. So I updated my profile pic on my desktop, and then I moved the photo to my private album. However, this seemed to change my profile picture to one of a cake in my public album, and not the one I'd just uploaded. When I went to try and change it again, it only let me select photos that were in my public album. I've fixed it now to the one I want to use, but I have to leave it in the public album or it changes. Thanks for looking into it.

When I click on 'My Media' on my profile, it just eggtimes for me. I can see other people's, just not my own.

This is still not working for me. I've logged off, cleared cache etc, but still can't access my media. Thanks.
