How I travelled to school in 1960 on the railway line from Marylebone to Aylesbury before the phasing out of steam trains in 1962 and their replacement with diesel multiple units. The line is shared with the Metropolitan branch of London Underground and is electrified as far as Amersham where Underground trains terminate.
