It's another Monday mourning. Could be worse, I suppose. But dang if I know how. ;)
The 'Inspired' coffee pot has been rinsed out and filled with whatever coffee was in the can under the counter and a generous supply of water. At the moments, it's converting all that into a brew that should be drinkable, with luck.
Let us now contemplate the goodness of Sarah's cookies while filling our mugs to the brim with coffee or tea. Enjoy.

I've just now gotten around to posting a note here this morning. The coffee was all brewed two hours ago and I was messing about on the internet. Still plenty of the coffee brew.
I know that Sara was out shopping all day so she didn't stop by to fill up the cookie jars yesterday afternoon, but there is still plenty there for anyone who stops by today.

Yesterday was a fun day even if it was a long day.
We did our grocery shopping and went to Dollar Tree and she got her nails done
Then we went out to a early birthday lunch today is her birthday but she wanted to something fun with me since she would be with family most of today.
Not much going on here today might get to the library today.
Sorry no cookies yesterday but I have pretty cookies today to make up for it

Hot and oppressive humidity has returned here. Not my favorite weather.
Things are still the same around here. I can't see my parents and trying to manage my mom's health issues and my father's dementia remotely has proven difficult and frustrating.
I had my first video appointment with my new doctor. It's an interesting way to handle things. They'll probably keep doing them even after restrictions are lifted.
My youngest son attended the protests in DC four days in a row. I am proud of him but I was worried about his safety. They are now suggesting that anyone who was protesting get a corona test. He tried to schedule one but they won't do one around here unless you have symptoms.
Hopefully, everyone will stay healthy so we can take our trip to the beach.

I got out and about running errands a picked up a couple of things I needed.

Well, now I know that the British government has lost the plot and I am likely to break the rules.
The lockdown has been eased to allow households with just one member visit another household.
This means that my Daughter-in-Law's mother, who is a nurse on a covid ward and divorced, is deemed safe to visit our grandchildren but the two of us, who have been in virtual self isolation for the last couple of months, are not.
It is no wonder that people don't know if they are coming or going.
The UK has one of the highest death rates per million population in the world and I can see why.
Okay, rant over, sorry.
I'll just sit here for a while and have an extra strong, double espresso and one of Sara's fine cookies while I chill out a bit.

I must say, Anna, it is all so confusing the rules you are working with. Here in the States we live with "recommendations" in most instances. Here in my state certain businesses are not allowed to open. The ones that are open perhaps may only use drive up windows to serve customers. The ones fully open, such as grocery stores, need to have the customers wear masks and stay distanced. But there is little enforcement. The people who follow Trump think it is all a "hoax" and don't bother to wear masks. We are still in the first phase of the pandemic with cases rising in most places once again as the different jurisdictions open but our federal government has decided to ignore it and hope it will go away.
Oh, drat. It is such a mess.

Confusing indeed, Larry. It became mandatory today to wear a face mask whilst using public transport (but not taxis. Possibly because of robbery). Why now, as virus is supposedly in decline? Why not right from the start?

It's good to see that Gav is making some updates to the site here. I have been noticing changes being made today. For anyone who was concerned because they could not add favorite stories to your list because the second page would give you a 404 error code that appears to be fixed now.

This is so wonderful. I have been unable to put a favorite here since I was already at the 50 limit. so many, many good works that I want to remember and mark as a favorite. Thanks for letting us all know Larry.

Absolutely right, Hettie. The devolved parts of the UK seem to have much more sense than England has. Although, that said, The English are great at doing as they please anyway, judging by the queues at Primark, the protests and just about anything else that suits them.
