I have submitted a story several days ago, It's still showing as

In Draft' even though I got the message that it was submitted flashed on the screen when I did it.  Problems?  This new process is much less intuitive and no real feedback when something is in that state between submitted and published.

All of them!

I'm not being flippant, if I've watched a movie five or more times, I am still entertained by it. Like a good book, re-reading one or re-watching a movie is like visiting an old friend. Some of my favorites include Casablanca, The Day the Earth Stood Still, An Affair to Remember, Sleepless in Seattle, Erin Brokovitch, Notting Hill . . . the list is too long to really lay out. Like I said, a visit from an old friend!

I am not exactly a new member, officially I joined in June but hadn't logged in until this month. In June I thought of posting a few stories that had been rejected on the other site for not meeting their subject matter criteria, but things went haywire and I didn't have time so I backburned them. Just recently I had another rejection and the Mod suggested posting it here. So I'm back. Unfortunately, it wasn't appropriate for this site, which gave me a good laugh!

As for me, I am an IT geek by day and hopeful romantic by night. I work in a school system, half managing their networks and half teaching IT stuff to HS kids. I used to travel a lot for my job, but settled down and decided to stop living out of a suitcase. Now I live several hours north of where I was born, not far from some family and dear friends. I have my own small house and I am always doing something to it. Now that the weather has turned cooler, I think new shelves in the garage are my next project.

For fun, I love to get out and run or bike ride in the area. There are some great trails and back roads, plus enough hills to make a good workout. I have a real tight circle of friends and even with COVID, we've managed to see each other, although not nearly as often as we would in a normal year. I did a quick check on the bank accounts and noticed my spending on eating out, shopping, and the like is considerably lower than the past couple of years. So once things open back up, be warned, I have extra money in the bank aqnd a hankering to have some fun!

I also love to write, I have a pretty decent collection over on this site's sister site, but like I said I have some that don't meet their criteria, so I will be working on them and seeing how well received they might be here. I started writing due to a small case of attention deficit, and that combined with my OCD makes for some interesting mental discussions! ALthough in my defense, OCD should be spelled CDO because those letters are supposed to be in alphabetical order!

I also have a pretty skewed sense of humor and hopefully that will be evident after a few posts here. So there you have it, Brooke in a nutshell. If you want to know more, you are going to have to put on your big-girl panties and ask. You never know, I might even answer!

Brooke, North of NYC, and where 'normal' is a only dryer setting in her house!
