I wonder if he wants a critique of that random blurt...

Just out of curiosity...about how many pages would that Word doc. be?

Yeah e.g...and this site is indeed a great place to network with other writers...there is a ton of valuable info in the forum, so feel free to explore...as well as quite a number of great stories and poems to read...

If you have any questions, feel free to ask one of the site moderators...and I am one of them moderating types, but I think you already found that out...

Anyway, obey the rules...no running through the halls with scissors, that sort of thing...and have fun...

Cheers,
Alan.

Yes, that's it, thanks! Do you still need me to send it to you?

Nah, I don't think you need to send it to me...is your original post alright the way it appears now?

Let me know, and I'll delete these posts under it...

EDIT: So the forum seems to edit out urls...What's the best way to provide a link to the site? Or is that against site policy?

You need 20 posts before you can post links or pictures...it's a rule put in place to prevent btw...

Send me the link, and I could probably do something...there's a rumor going around that I actually work here...though don't believe everything you hear...

Btw...is this the link?

Mr. Martini's random blurts are pretty darned organized!

Lol..."Organized randomness" eh? I'll try to be more disorganized in the future...but, I can't make any promises...
Just a note here, my latest post on this fine site Dream Job (Everyman's Fantasy) was actually written back in April, 2009...it was written for another site, which was a bit more "adult" than this site...

It was my fifth story, written a mere eight days after I started writing, and my first attempt at humor btw...and yeah, I managed to churn out 41 stories in my first three months of writing back then...I was a bit of a "writing fool"...I did learn quite a bit about writing though, writing that much and posting stuff...I'm quite certain I learned more about writing in those first three months from all the feedback alone than I could have possibly learned had I taken a four year college course on the subject...just sayin'
My first submission to The Society of Classical Poets, and all submissions are eligible for their yearly contest which I believe has a first prize of $1k, and consideration for their yearly print antho...btw, our very own Miss Maggie Rascal made a couple of suggestions which resulted in a few word changes...a very helpful Rascal she is...♥

I can only thank you once again for what you've achieved with this website.

I echo those sentiments, I think Lisa's efforts and guidance in the early days of this fine site did a lot to make it what it is today...and don't forget about us Lisa...you know, stop by now and then to say hello or something...

On another note...it looks like I'm going to have to be nice to Yas from now on if I can expect those big pay raises and Christmas bonuses...I should be able to handle that though...

So if anyone wants to "follow" me (does anyone else find that creepy and stalkerish?)

Looks like I just became your latest creepy stalker...and btw, I think I doubled the number of followers you have...

And speaking of not knowing how to use something very well...I'm on Pinterest now, though why, I'm not quite sure...

Just so you know, I'm working on a response to this discussion.

I'll get back to you on it as soon as I can.

Uh oh...you're in trouble now Rump...btw, I read this story before you even submitted here with its original title "Crossed Up"...just thought I'd mention that...

Crossed Up by Bill Fullerton
http://usads.ms11.net/crossed.html

We actually discussed it in the mod lounge here before you submitted it...yeah, how many people can say their stories get discussed before they're even submitted...makes you sorta special I reckon...

Anyway, I also got the honor of rejecting it when you did submit it to this fine site...my own thoughts at the time were that certain words which may be considered offensive should be confined to dialogue...it would be hard to write dialogue in a story about the Klan without using certain offensive words, at least if you want to make it realistic, since we would have to assume that would be the way they would talk...

I read the comments on the story here...I agree with Yas in that your story is clearly anti-Klan, you do make them out to be bumbling fools, though I agree with Miss Maggie that some of the words you use could clearly be perceived as offensive to some...

Personally, I would have thought it better if you confined all those offensive words to dialogue...just my two cents...

The one I learned about today (better late than never) is a Visual Thesaurus, appropriately found at www.VisualThesaurus.com.

Not sure if you tried it yet Diana, but it's a trial version that only allows a limited number of searches...

DM, that one sounds amazing... but though I'd love the money for all these things I wanna do... they only thing I'd like to hear in the morning is:

Come here and lemme cuddle with you!

Cuddling in the morning is certainly nice...perhaps we can combine the lottery win and cuddling...

I wouldn't mind hearing something like this in the morning "Honey, I bought you a lottery ticket the other day and it won the $200 million jackpot, let's cuddle now and then we'll go out yacht shopping later"...

What you think?

Umm, unless my eyesight is worse than I thought it appears that your first paragraph was excised, which is a shame since the first sentence of the second paragraph was predicated on it.

I can barely tell on my netbook screen, but I believe you are right...it looks good anyway, it's a beautiful cover...nice poems too...

And thanks Sindy...
I am featured on the back cover of Janet Caldwell's latest book "Dancing Toward the Light"...or at least my blurb is...here is the blurb I wrote for Janet recently...

The great classical philosopher Socrates once noted that “the unexamined life is not worth living.” I tend to believe we all examine our lives from time to time. We all grapple with often difficult questions about our past, and where we are heading in the future. The difference with poets and writers is that these questions are often put into words for others to view. The words are not always pretty, often borne of a lifetime of both hope and sorrow. For the writer, the hope is to find oneself in the end.

Poet Janet Caldwell in her new book takes us through just such an introspection. She touches upon an often difficult past, but decides to let it go. Angels appear in our daily lives, and goodness is all around us. She concludes that our own happiness is right there all along, practically knocking at the door. If we choose to let it in, we too can be “Dancing toward the Light.”

The book is not yet out on Amazon, but you can order signed copies direct from Inner Child Press...
