"I bought you a Mega-Millions lottery ticket the other day as a surprise gift, and it looks like it won. I went out and cashed it for you while you were sleeping...your $200 million is in those bags over there on the floor...what would you like for breakfast btw?"

Congratulations to Steffanie, CK and Rascal!

To all the entrants: Thank you for making our jobs as judges so difficult. The competition was extremely close, with many worthy submissions. Selecting the top three from among them all was no easy task.

I echo Miss Rascal's sediments...it was not an easy task to judge this one, there were a lot of winners here, really...

In the end it was the size of the bribes that decided the outcome...I mean, um, hard work and talent shining through...my bad...

(Damn Auto-correct)

Anyway...a few people here have reason to celebrate...I'm talking about the mods who had to judge this thing, I for one am glad it's over, and I survived...

On a slightly more serious note...a big round of Congratulations to the three talented Stories Spacers who made it into the Winner's Circle...well deserved, and well done stuff here my friends...

Cheers,
Alan.

Yes, we'd like to thank everyone for their patience...and rest assured, we are using the latest, most advanced scientific methods to assure that the judging is fair and accurate...

I came across this article recently...apparently "not much" is a very relative term...

Anyway, if you'd like to get paid such paltry minimum wages for your stories and poems, you can use their online submission form...note that they want the submissions as PDF attachments...

Just got this, not sure if comments contribute to the outcome of the contest, but I wouldn't mind terribly if someone wants to leave a nice comment...note the link to my book btw...

to me
Dear Alan,

Your Lascaux Flash entry "The Painting" is up on the site! Go check it out and let all your friends know, too, so they can come over and cheer you on.

During the contest we invite entrants and readers to comment on the entries, to get to know one another and help each other improve in the craft of writing. We hope you'll take advantage of our writing community and participate.

Check back periodically: this year we've invited authors and industry experts to offer short bits of advice for writers on a variety of topics. These posts will be interspersed among the entries.

Thanks again for your support and participation and we wish you the best of luck.

Sincerely,
The Editors

BTW,, this is the first novel I've come across where the chapters a numbered in reverse order, going from 10 to 0.

So, in other words, after you finish reading the book you're at the beginning?

Wow, that's deep...let me go ponder this for a bit...

Congratulations and well done, two weeks in a row. Are you going for the Triple Crown next?

Yeah, she's going to enter next week as Rascal Maggie...nobody will notice...

Congrats once again on your win Miss Rascal...you might have to build a bigger display case for all these badges...
Interesting...and something a bit different, but big money here...
