I didn’t expect a large debate on erotica as it is still a subject – just thought I’d ask the question. Sorry if anyone has been offended.

I agree about the point of erotica still considered somewhat a subject...but, the "Grey" series seems to be helping alleviate that issue and making erotica acceptable for mainstream, and that's a good thing...

As far as what Yas said about erotica and eBooks, there have been a lot of articles on that...one of the main reasons why erotica sells so well in eBooks, is that nobody can see what you're reading...

E-Readers Stimulating the Sales of Erotica eBooks
http://goodereader.com/blog/e-book-news/e-readers-stimulating-the-sales-of-erotica-ebooks/

And that's something that's been happening for a while, well before the "Grey" phenomena...

I started writing on an erotic story site...I personally don't think genre has anything to do with whether one is a "serious" writer or not, and I think mainstream acceptance of erotica is a great thing for a lot of writers I know...I know some very talented writers who write erotica...some of whom may actually be on this site...
My story Sexual Healing is now out in print for the first time, btw...it's in the August print edition of The Rusty Nail...

Here is the link to buy it, should anyone feel so inclined...

Don't look like it's on Amazon yet...

Feb 2010. I checked. I noticed you got an EP for your entry - so a rather belated well done.

Oh yeah, thanks...it's all coming back to me...and yeah, that story will also be officially published in a couple of weeks as well...

When I say "officially" published, I mean in a publication recognized by Poets & Writers Magazine...and they're sticklers btw...

I wrote a piece on saving frogs for an enviroment themed competition on the red site. For some reason the judges never responded to Pond Life - but it's publication became the defining moment for me as an author.

Well, here's your big chance to turn it into a poem and give it a whole new lease on life...since your an experienced save the frog writer...

I believe I read that one...seems like a while ago btw...

Not a good one Alan, not a good one.

I can assure you Miss Moth that no amphibians, or anything else for that matter, were harmed during the making of that poem...and I'll definitely not be sending that one in...

Perhaps a poem about an aging frog with a penchant for country blues would be more to your liking?
Yeah, you know you remember this...I think they call this "old school" nowadays...but, some would just call it classic R&B...
I was thinking maybe a poem about frog legs tasting like chicken might work...what everyone think?

Little froggy used to jump so high,
Shame poor froggy had to die,
But froggy's legs are a treat,
And I'm hungry and have to eat.

Little froggy met his fate,
Now his legs are on a plate,
Tastes so good they're finger lickin'
Froggy's legs taste like chicken.
Oh, here we go my amphibian loving SS friends...this is something you don't see every day...a poetry contest for poems about frogs...no fee, $100.00 first prize, and a chance to get published in a genuine book of frog poetry...so, hop to it...

I get to come along too, right?

You certainly may...we just need somebody to look after the place for a month or so...

And hopefully when we all get back, the contest will be judged, the prizes will be given out...and the place will still be here...
I have an idea for a travel story as well...it involves the boss of a famous story site giving her loyal, hard-working staff a month long, all expense paid vacation aboard a luxury cruise ship...complete with open bar and complimentary ice cream...

Too bad it's just a fiction piece...
Lovely mug Steff...do I get a discount if I buy two?

Anyway...the Social Media Examiner is an online resource of marketing how to, research, case studies, news...and you get the idea...they have an e-mail newsletter you can subscribe to as well...check it out...

I had started a discussion over in a couple of online writing groups earlier after the topic of eBook pricing was brought up...mainly the relationship between pricing and sales...something which is a big concern to any self-pubbed author who sets their own prices...and hopes to make some money along the way...

I've read a couple of things recently, namely that there is a perception that low priced books are low quality...a couple of people agreed that their books don't sell well at $.99 for instance...and I was looking for more feedback and links to interesting articles on the subject...

Here are two so far...and any input from SS people here is more than welcome...

My erotic poem Two Unite As One, and my erotic story Morning In The Park are both out in print in a new anthology of erotic poems and prose just released by Inner Child Press...

It is available at a special pre-release price of only $8.00...not bad for a 290 page print book, btw...it will be $19.00 when it goes up on Amazon August 1, 2012...

"Morning In The Park" is the second story I ever wrote btw...it's also the first story I sold (Oysters & Chocolate, April, 2011), the first story I sold twice (Mark Williams International Digital Publishing), and now the first erotic story of mine in print...so, that story's been good to me...

Here's the table of contents of the book...I'm on page 12 and 257 apparently...

Is writing the first thing you did?

I am quite certain that writing is not the first thing I did after I was born...I'm sort of an "accidental writer"...I stumbled upon an erotic story site three years ago, and after a few days on the site decided to try writing a story to see if I could get something on their "Hottest Fantasy" list...took me two tries btw...

It was sort of a challenge, like a mountain that needed to be climbed...I just kept on writing afterwards...
I would say most stories do not have a love affair...I think if you read all of the stories on this site, it would be safe to say most do not have a love affair...
Howdy Friends...two poems of mine, Arrested By The Grammar Police and Steal This Poem were published today in the online version of Craig Hart's fine literary journal The Rusty Nail...and the print edition will follow later this year...

Of course, you can say you've read them both here first...on this cutting edge literary site known throughout the world as Stories Space...

Cool vid, and a real nugget from the past...and some here might understand the reference...The Music Machine...

And Steff, I don't think it was the free ice cream that got your hot, girlie warriors that tenth vote...more likely that picture if you ask me...just sayin'
