Free online editing? What you trying to do Yas, put editors out of business...frankly, I'm surprised at you...

I'll have to try it later with a sample of my writing...hope I don't just get a laugh track or something...
Yes, it is officially the weekend, and on that note...here's a bit of Jerry Lee Lewis for your listening pleasure...

Just going to "Bump" this one here...I had mentioned to a couple of people here that eFiction has an upcoming humor issue, but they have other stuff upcoming as well...they take previously published work, and as mentioned...they are a royalty paying publication now...

Themes

We alternate themed issues with open genre issues. If you don't see your genre, you can submit anyway and your work could be featured in an open theme issue. Or petition the editorial staff to get your genre/theme its own issue.

The amount of times I've tried to rework my novel because of tense - I find both have their advantages and downfalls. Which tense do you prefer when reading a novel and why? Is there a preferred style in the literary world?

There was a similar thread not long ago over in a FB writing group I'm in...if I recall, the general consensus was that the main thing was being consistent...one writer said she was used to writing in past tense, but wanted to write a story in present tense but that she found herself falling back into past tense...

That's when your problems begin, because you confuse the reader...same with switching POV, the main thing is being consistent throughout the story...

Why do you write?

I started writing after I joined an erotic story site, and some here know which site...right Larry? But anyway, I joined the site originally just to read the stuff, but it was a site like this where people rate stories and they had a "Hottest Fantasy" list which sort of intrigued me...

After a few days on the site I decided to give a shot at writing something, to see if I could make the list...it was like a challenge, a mountain that needed to be climbed...that was April 21, 2009...and it took me two tries to make the list btw...

Why do you share what you write?

Now you're asking too many questions...I'd say it's the feedback from readers that keeps me writing, it's certainly nice to hear from someone who can relate to what I've written...

I no longer worry about making any "Hottest Story" or "Top Author" lists...I'd like to think I moved beyond that...
Just a note, if you've never seen this...I am going to go out on a limb and say it's the best show I've ever seen, and frankly on so many levels I won't even begin to describe at the moment...this promo barely does it justice, and if anyone finds the whole vid on YT, let me know...

I know, I should just go out and buy it...here's more on the show, btw...

Reader's Digest pay a cool $100 for a joke or funny story...which is pretty good if you ask me...

Anyway, if you think you may have something that may tickle the funny bone check this link...

The picture you have posted of a pooter might be a pooter in your world, but a pooter in my world is a heavy box-like contraption

Oh, Miss Shy Person...I think I may have figured out what a pooter might be after all...and assuming your pooter was made within the last twenty years or so, it should have a microphone thingy...

Of course, not having a microphone to plug into the thingy could still present a problem...

(sadly I don't currently have a pooter that has the ability to let me record it, but one day, eh?).

A pooter? Btw, what most people use is a free program called Audacity...

Audacity® is free, open source, cross-platform software for recording and editing sounds.

If you have any questions, let me know...didn't say I'd have an answer, but let me know anyway...

Btw...a "pooter"...isn't that one of these?

I go away, have my cry, and then ask myself, do I think the comment has truth? If yes, what am I going to do about it? If no, who shall I ask to check it with?

I think it's up to you to decide whether or not the comment has truth...the fact that someone points something out simply means that aspect caught their attention for better or worse, and what you do with that info is again up to you...

I totally agree with what you said about it being "one person's opinion" and I try to impress that upon people often, whether it's a critique, rejection notice from a publisher, etc...and you know what they say about opinions...

And I do sincerely believe people should be honest with their critique, but again, one person saying that your writing is "total rubbish" won't make it so any more than me saying my car is a new Bentley would make it so...

Did that make sense? And yeah, if you catch a big enough "fishy" make sure you fry it up for the rest of your friends here...
Alright! Had got this message in February...

Alan Jankowski,

Congratulations! Your submission, The Birthday Party, has been accepted for publishing in the anthology.

The book will be available to the public in early May 2012. It will be available in both paperback and e-book editions.

On behalf of all of us here I would like to thank you again for being a part of our project to raise money for cancer research. We will inform you when it is available, at which time we can begin the world record evolution processes.

And just found out that the book is now out...and this marks the first time The Birthday Party is out in print, btw...and a reminder that all proceeds do benefit cancer research...

Sounds interesting Larry...next time make enough up for all your friends here on SS...

I got regular Folgers with French Vanilla creamer...my usual, I might add...
It's official...the official blurb for Sexual Healing in time for the official launch of Alfie Dog in May, is now officially...

"A man is forced to reexamine his life after learning his wife only has a year left to live. The changes he makes leave a lasting impact, begging the question “Can love really conquer all?” A love story in every sense of the word."

And my name's up there on the front page...so, it must be, um...official...
