BUT DM needs a lil help from you please ..or maybe a few more drinks

Hey E...what you trying to say anyway? Btw, I think I figured it out...you just have to warn me when you go adding fancy features here, some are a little slower to catch on...

And I will take those drinks, btw...
Nope...all my messages are coming out in bold type...even the ones from Stories Space if someone I'm following posts a new story...
Why are all my messages coming out in bold type now?

Don't tell me everyone is sending messages in bold type all of a sudden...

Have to admit, it sort of wake me up in the morning...
A Chipmunks fan, eh Sharon? If old Alvin can't get you in the holiday spirit, nothing can...on another note...

Is there a way to get away from that? Cause writing and crying is not a good combo.

Yeah, if you cry you might short out your computer keyboard...I would tend to say there is no real way around it...

And be careful about forcing yourself to write about something you may not really want to, because for some reason you feel you "have to" or whatever...

You might end up with a big public reminder of an event you might not really be ready to make public...

Wow! That's a lot of money.

That's a lot of ice cream...I mean, right...that's a lot of money...

Cheers for posting this one DM.

Good luck with that Chrissey...I've only written two stories under 1k, and both were in 2009, so not eligible...heck, I only wrote two stories this year...and both for the last contest here...damn, really need to do something about that...

I tend to be the opposite to most other writers... the ideas are there, plots are all laid out neatly, but finding the right words and actually sticking to the plots.... tricky bussiness this writing thing.

You don't necessarily have to stick to the plot you know, but if the plot is what it takes to get started, so be it...

It's interesting how many writers I've heard say that they have no idea where a story is going until they start writing it...

I tend to be the opposite of that...I adhere pretty strictly to the overall plot idea I had originally...not that certain things don't get added, mind you...but the overall plot is pretty much what I had in mind originally...and I do need a plot idea to start a story...
Damn E...going for the record for number of emoticons in one post I see...not sure what the record was, but I think you broke it...

Hey Gav...not sure if it was mentioned, but you do realize that profile page comments are being added at the top of the page, not the bottom, eh?

You're just trying to mess with my head again I see...

I like the idea of that. Imagine the pressure!

I think we need an actual "story generator" not a plot generator...

Or better yet, a "time generator"...what you'll think?
I've never used one, but was looking over the first one...looks like you can get some pretty bizarre plot ideas, me thinks...

BOOM! And Adele glomps Alan. Sorry Alan.

LOL...wrong thread for that, no?

But, thanks for the big boom and glomp anyway Miss Adele...

Do you know how to use an ellipsis?

An ellipsis? That be this thing...right?

to Silver, bcc: me
Please pardon the duplication of information if you have already learned of the new Silver Boomer Books anthology project, On Our Own -- widowhood for smarties. Full submission guidelines are at http://silverboomerbooks.com/sbb/wp/for-writers/ Remember, you are a writer so you can tell other people's stories as well as your own! So far, we have received much more poetry than prose for this collection, so, if you're still thinking about what to submit, see if you can craft a short essay instead of a poem. Notice, too, the working title hints at surviving widowhood with hope and flair. We're looking for more than than just sentimental remembrances of love lost.

If you wish to be deleted from this mailing list, please let us know. Feel free to share this call with your writing groups and on your blogs but urge your contacts to follow submission guidelines closely.

Thanks!

Ooooh! Now you got me thinking that too at the moment...

Just hope you're making enough for all your friends here at Stories Space...just saying...

DM I think your stuttering. Do you think Gav could fix that?

I have no idea what you're talking about rose girl...I think you're just seeing double or something...
OK, just got this...let's see if I can get paid on this story twice...

Just bumping this one...the nice thing about some of these contests I've been posting is that they come around again every six months or a year...

Makes my job easier...
Damn! Here's a real reason to move to Australia..."The winner of each award will receive $80000 tax-free and the shortlisted entries in each category receive $5000 tax-free"...new awards for poetry and something else...go read it my Australian friends...

If I didn't mention it here before, my story His Christmas Wish will be out in a Christmas anthology on Dancing With Bear Publishing...and it's being released tomorrow...

There is a radio show to go along with it...

Just a reminder that the radio show is tomorrow, Friday at 2:00PM EST, so you can plan to skip school, call in sick from work, forget to pick the kids up...whatever you need to do, because frankly, if you miss this one you are just a nowhere square who just don't care...alright, I tried...go listen to the show...and no drunken hecklers please, because I do heckle back...
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/worldofinknetwork/2011/12/09/a-good-story-is-a-good-story--host-marsha-cook

And if you miss the show, it will be recorded and available for listening at that link...so...

Btw, I talked to the host Marsha on the phone yesterday for about an hour...she is going to be doing these radio shows with poets soon...she is a professional publicist, and made mention that poetry is selling relatively well these days...which is good if you write poems...and I know I've written a few...

Cheers,
Alan.
