Simple, really: Just state your word of the day. Pick a word, any word, obscure or not. Modern or archaic. Just remember to explain why it's the word of the day, and what it means.
Thank you, Roland, for your word of the day, AND to have explained it. I love that!
So come on, please, people, the basic thread requirement isn't demanding or complicated.
Explain why it's the word (your) word of the day, and what it means.
We're writers, write? Right?
Words are our stock in trade, let's follow the thread requirement. We'll all be enriched by doing so.
Mine is tenacious.
It means holding fast, persistent, stubborn or obstinate. Also holding together; cohesive; not easily pulled asunder; tough.
Why is it my word of the day?
Because being tenacious is part of being a writer, in my opinion, in order to hold fast, be persistent, and most certainly, hold together, be cohesive, not be pulled asunder.
In other words, to be a better writer.

You know my story chances then you will understand this.
"I can't remember the last time I acted like a child, the last time I got to play with other children without a care in the world. I don't remember. I have been so focus about my well being and how I would get by. I thought and acted like an adult. Every since my mother died. But I do wish. Just once I can go and play with the other kids then be inside wanting for the last hit."

Oh I want to see that movie! Tell me if it is worthy to be seen!!
It was good, but not great. I would give it a 6.5 out of 10. I thought 'Cloverfield' the original was a 7.0. It is entirely different kind of movie than 'Cloverfield'. Much slower paced and very little action until the very end. Almost a psychological thriller genre with 20 minutes of action/sci-fi at the end. Acting was very good. I believe most people may find its pacing too slow throughout most of the movie.

What would everyone think of a parallel competition? Two simultaneous competitions with the same parameters/rules except one would be micro-fiction and one would be poetry; and you could enter both (with different pieces) or just one.
Oh Oh!! I like that idea.![]()
