It's good to ground yourself after doing anything ritualistic, so if coffee helps, then you'd be free to bring your own flask. Also, worshipping outside, it does get a wee bit chilly, so some coffee might not be such a bad idea.
(Yes, I'd drink Earl Grey tea, but only in small doses because the bergamot goes for me, gives me muscle aches.)
I wouldn't drive down a dark, creepy road to get home because I can't drive, but I'd walk. Hell, I've seen myself walking through dark and creepy passageways, so it's really no big deal.
