You deserved everything she gave you and then some. And some on top of that. And then more of it.

Also note the subcategories. Memoirs and musings. Not actually stories. However in this case stories is a broad term to cover a variety of categories, if the reader fails to notice the memiors part that is ckearly stated above the story then shame on them.

But when it's noted that not all of "your submissions" have been submitted (because drafts can be stored), what will be the next pedantic complaint?

Why the use of such inflammatory language?

As a moderator you ought to be able to express yourself in a more restrained manner!

For the record, my comment is NOT pedantic: I have every damn right to ask any question I would like an answer to. If YOU cannot answer it in a right and proper manner, leave it for someone who can and will.

The Battle Eternal

Darkness stalks
Where Light shines brightest
For Evil never sleeps
And Light must be vigilant
Always and forever

Love conquers all, eventually,
In spite of the battle
Between Good and Evil:
Between Light and Dark.

Dec 31st 1695 - A window tax is imposed in England, causing many shopkeepers to brick up their windows to avoid the tax.

It has been a small but nagging bone of contention with me that everything submitted -- be it a poem, story, autobiographical item or whatever -- is lumped under the same heading of 'Story'. I personally find that a tad irritating.

Not only is it misrepresentative of the work submitted it also tends to lead readers towards incorrect interpretations of the work. I have had comments on some of my true life work that has been misunderstood as fiction!

I can understand from an administrative point of view that a 'catch-all' category makes sense insofar as it makes life that little bit easier. However, when it leads to confusing readers then it is not working.

Can we not now have a change in description, from "your stories" to "your submissions" or similar?
I disagree, Paul.

Having the poetry submissions accessible through its own button makes far more sense. The two genres are entirely different so why not separate them? Neither category is being "hidden" or given preference as both buttons are equally and freely accessible.

It seems to me that the 'traditionalists' here do not like change. It is not OUR site, anyway: it belongs to those who set it up and administer it. If they decide to make changes without consulting the members, that is their right.
I sometimes wish there was a thread here that was not accessible to youngsters where I could vent and say exactly what I am thinking and feeling! DAMN!
Verily, thou hast enlightened a darkness of understanding for which rewards and riches are greatly deserving.
