The most recent movie I've seen was actually on Apple TV. It was Greyhound with Tom Hanks. An excellent WWII flick and not excessively long as some war movies tend to be.

The last DVD I watched was National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I could probably recite every line from that movie having seen it so many times.

The last movie in the theater...I had to think hard about that one. It was either The Invisible Man with Elisabeth Moss or Knives Out with an all-star cast. Both were excellent movies!! I've watched them both on streaming as well.

hi peeps
A beautiful but crazy busy day. I forgot how much work goes into planning a trip
Gonna get to go home for my Moms funeral and I leave Thursday and will be back on Monday its gonna be nuts the next day or so.
Gotta get the place straighten up and get packed
Carry-on is packed got all my clothes laid out that I want to pack .
It's gonna be just a short trip but it's okay.
I made sugar cookies since they are so quick.
The cookie jars are empty so I filled them to the tippy top with stars and paw prints cookies
They are diabetic friendly too.
*giving the adorable mascots fresh water and treats *
Stay safe everyone!

Hugs for you Sara! I hope whatever airline you are flying is as strict about social distancing and mask wearing as Delta. Be safe and know your friends are thinking about you!

Scott Classic, I will join you in some Scottish breakfast tea, thanks!

Overcast day here on the beach. It's funny how blue the water looks when the sun is shining, but a cloudy, overcast day makes the gulf appear green. I just saw a flash of lightning so I guess it's a stay indoors kinda day.

There is some coffee brewing now and tea can be a possibility.

I am fortunate to live in a neighborhood that is urban but has a nature area across the street with three large ponds and a stream flowing under the road around the corner from me. In that wetland area are lots of animals. Raccoon tracks in the mud, deer, and I've seen muskrats. And we are in a city with around 100,000 people.

There have been several species of turtles seen there. I watched a large snapping turtle going upstream along the creek bed. I've seen herons and other water birds. I still see the work of beavers in the saplings that have been felled and stripped of branches.

Within ten minutes is a state park with a large lake and marina for boats of all kinds. Pelicans and gulls spend their time there.

The coffee should be ready by now.

I grew up in Detroit (actual city not suburbs) but was fortunate to live a half block from a huge park. So I had the best of both worlds growing up, and developed a love for woodland creatures.

But living right on the beach in the Gulf of Mexico has gifted me with all kinds of marine life including manatees, dolphins, tons of seabirds, and my favorite, the sea turtles!

I don’t drink coffee, but if that tea is possible, I’d love some!
I live in a small town on a chain of barrier islands in the Gulf of Mexico on the west coast of Florida. Sometimes we get a lot of wind and rain from Hurricanes. Sometimes it gets bad enough that we batten down the hatches, and on a rare occasion, we have to evacuate to the mainland.

I've been fortunate that a lot of the worst of the hurricane weather seems to skirt around me. It's probably because I am so well prepared with 8 cases of water, 2 weeks worth of non-perishable food, and flashlights/batteries up the ying-yang! I even have a portable generator!
Mmmmm, Sara has cookies!!! I could really use a cookie right now....just sayin'

Hope everyone is having a good day. It's another sticky day in paradise. Temp is 91, but feels like 105!

I've had people ask me if I'm safe here in Florida and that is really sweet! Hurricane-wise, we got about 20 minutes of heavy wind and rain on Saturday and that was pretty much it! Covid-19-wise, my county's confirmed cases is up only 8.8% since last week and that makes me feel a lot better. Our county has had a strict mask mandate, which has really helped in my opinion. The town I live in has had one case only. We have been so fortunate!! So, while the news would have people believing that all of Florida is in major crisis, I can honestly say, KNOCK ON WOOD that my little corner of the world feels quite safe right now.

I'm gonna munch on a cookie and then go check on my loggerhead nests!!

(Sara makes amazing cookies btw!)
Just stopping by to say hi! I'm in the process of trying to read all of the competition stories here. Such lovely stories, so far!
Hello

Just beginning to navigate my way through the "Blue" site! I think I'm gonna like it here!

I've entered the competition because my competitive nature couldn't resist, and because, living on the beach, the story sort of wrote itself.

Those of you who know me might recall that I am fortunate to have two Loggerhead nests in my "yard" aka the beach. If I'm lucky enough to observe the hatching this year, I will be sure to post some pics!

Thanks for making me feel welcome here!

Friend invited me, CrazyTechGoddesLady. Seems like a nice place.

LOL, I'm guessing that's a compliment! Yes, this is a nice place. I've been meaning to come here for over a year, but I finally decided it was time!

I'm happy to be here and take part in the story competition.
