Some stormy weather here today. Of course, it managed to hit when I was out of the office shopping and picking up lunch (chicken bacon ranch poutine from Harvey's). Later, I was out at the front of the building and it had cleared up and turned sunny. My office is in the centre of the building with no windows visible.

Caught up on the new poems and there's some nice ones there from people who haven't submitted before. Please do read and comment. There's no better way to welcome and encourage.

Thanks bear.

Good night's sleep last night so I am in better shape today.

Two more poems are up so check'em out. I notice that the third last entry isn't getting much attention so give it a look if you have not.

The recent entries are:

https://www.storiesspace.com/stories/poetry/puzzle-of-our-lives

None are members that I am familiar with but haven't looked to see if they are new or just infrequent visitors. Either way, give 'em a warm welcome, eh.

Two more poems

With nine days to go

This competition

Continues to grow

Of poems SS now has plenty

Dare we dream.

Of getting to twenty?

Good afternoon. Did not sleep much last night. Not sure why, but I feel like hell today. Hopefully will be back to normal tonight.

I see another poem went up yesterday, putting us to fourteen. We usually run between 16 and 20 entries in a comp so I hope they will keep coming in.

The Swedish rock band Soilwork lost their guitarist. Only 47 and the band intimated that there were problems with mental health and alcohol.

Not unless you're 80+.

Whew. That's a relief. Got a couple decades to go, then. 😎

...so today started season 51 of The Price is Right and I was so glad to see Drew it's not funny.

Why is he so adorable? Just to drive me nuts?

Holy wow. 51 seasons? I remember watching it occasionally as a kid. Does this ... does this mean I'm ... old? 😕

Got wet (heavy rain this morning). Got mad (one of our suppliers had a major outage on the weekend, messing up my morning). Even got a bit of work done.

where's the frikkin coffee?

Ah, a cryptic one-liner. Very Zen. 😋

Fortunately, we need someone to spell "special" more than someone to spell "super..."

The driving rain won't keep me away

I'm here to make the drinks today

Coffee soon will fill your mug

Please don't spill it on the rug

And if you want some tea instead,

It's over here next to the bread

A pot of lovely orange pekoe

With your morning treats to go.

Now get on with your lovely day,

And pray I am not washed away.

(Let's be honest, if I entered that one in the comp, I'd have it sewn up.)

Ack, there's a bear in the cafe! 😲

Oh, whew, it's just James. 😋

Wow, this fell down the list fast. We're now up to a baker's dozen. Which would be great if this were cookies. But it's not. And, in fact, even if it were, we would be wanting MORE!

Unfortunately, "super..." is trademarked by Disney and Mickey Mouse is now stalking etairay

I'll get some coffee in the pot

And keep that java nice and hot

Then I make some more hot tea

For those not into hot coffee

And I'll give the place a cleaning,

Something to do that I've been meaning.

(Dear God, that's pitiful. The spirits of the great poets will now haunt me for eternity.)

An even dozen! Keep 'em coming. And it's a good field. The last couple are both quite sweet and beautiful.

Sorry, was busy catching up on the poetry. Really good one from Redwriter. And Annie's is sweet, about her little one's first b-day.

Coffee made by a polar bear,

Is rather strong and kind of rare,

But tea made by a bear as well?

That's just something rather swell.

Sabaton is great. Swedish power metal with a very talented line-up and a fascination with history. Their last album was a concept album about WWI.
