Together we shall find happiness.
Here in Inspirations, we come to find inspiration, whether in our hot beverages or companionship and conversation. So welcome if you are new here. Grab a mug and sit down.
Coffee du jour is Blue Mountain from Jamaica. Teas are Scottish Breakfast and Sunday Tea (tea with bourbon vanilla). Fresh iced is in the fridge since I hear they are sweltering out West.
And, just for no reason other than having some fun, here's a pie to share.
Cleaning day!! Wash the coffee and teapots, sweep the floor, wipe the tables and counter. Put the chairs back in place. Fireplace isn't getting used so no ashes to clean up for now. Oh, water the plants. I put some potted plants around the room for ambiance. Brightens things up a bit.
Then I move on to the daily tasks. Coffee is brewing, tea in the pots is Early Grey and Red Rose. Fresh pitcher of iced tea is in the fridge and pop is restocked.
Good morning! My week off draws ever nearer to its end. But for now, it is Friday and the weather is beautiful.
Putting on a fresh pot of M's coffee and some Red Rose and Irish Breakfast in the teapots. Fresh iced tea is in the fridge for those needing to cool down rather than heat up.
Have a good one!
pours a glass of iced tea and adds lemon
So, today we cleaned the fridge, pulled out the stove to clean behind it (and survived the experience), and did some pruning of a tree near the house (as in, I leaned out a window with my shears to do it).
What we were supposed to be doing was seeing my son get his degree. However, he got sick the other day and couldn't go so we decided not to go up. Has tested negative twice on rapid tests so may not be you know what. Apparently, flu is getting bad up here now that masking and other restrictions are off.
I need a title for the final healer story. It's been through about 3 already and I am still not sure if any of them works. The story itself is going better. I cleaned up some terminology that I was inconsistent with. If I do compile these stories into a longer form, I'll need to do the same cleanup for the two earlier ones (things like consistently referring to Tana's father, who I still have not given a proper name, as "Night Lord" or "Night Lord of Tan Kolar" rather than "Lord of the Night" as I occasionally have done).
Oo, cool. Love Supertramp, though I have not listened to them in a long time. Dreamers, Logical Song, Fool's Overture, all favorites back in their heyday. My brother had, IIRC, a live album by them plus Crime.
I have been enjoying this video. Israeli metal band Scardust with hurdy-gurdy master and vocalist Patty Gurdy. Symphonic metal+hurdy-gurdy is odd, but no odder than Nightwish having a uillean piper/flautist as a permanent member. And Patty has done it before so knows the territory.
Putting on a fresh pot of M's wonderful coffee. Teas are Cream of Earl Grey (from David's Tea) and Scottish Breakfast. Washed the pitcher and refilled with fresh iced tea. There's plenty of sugar and lemon wedges on the counter if you want to flavour it. Soda supply looks good.
Quiet, sunny day here though we are supposed to get showers in the evening. Just settling in for some writing.
Later, alligators.
Hey, welcome to the light side of the writing force, Myrrrh. Nice to see you. And thanks for the coffee. I don't drink the stuff myself but most of the regulars do.
whirrrrrr of the grinder
Okay, so we have a fresh pot of Sagada coffee brewing courtesy of M, English Breakfast and Buddha's Blend teas in the pots. Fresh pitcher of iced is in the fridge.
Kind of meh here. Been raining overnight and supposed to get showers until early afternoon. Trying to write these days but finding it hard for some reason.
Will probably be scarce after today. M's coffee is in the coffee cupboard and I've cleaned the grinder and made sure it will work well. Tea, sodas, and such all well-stocked.
I have never watched any of Stranger Things but any series that can put Kate Bush back on the musical map is by definition a favorite of mine. The song in question is "Running Up That Hill" from 1985's The Hounds of Love, which apparently plays a key role in Season 4. One of my favorite performances of the song is this one from 1987 featuring Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, who has a long history with Kate going back to the beginning of her career (he had a hand in getting it started).
