No Talia Thursday. Me and the cats and the blank page.
So write about the cats. Probably has zero to do with your novel but once you start writing, who knows where it might lead? T. S. Eliot started writing about cats and ended up making Andrew Lloyd Webber rich.😋

Cable and wifi upgrade is really nice but now I've got even more options in terms of watching stuff on streaming services.
Best of all, everything is upgraded in time for Jane's return on Sunday.
Nothing like an upgrade to boost your spirits, or so we say in IT.

Hope everyone is doing well. 😇
Hey there, haven't seen you about in a while. How's things?
Good afternoon. I'll put a pot on and some Red Rose tea. Was busy this morning with an eye appointment (20/15 vision in BOTH eyes).
Later.

Saw the foot specialist yesterday and turns out I gotta have surgery on the ankle to reconnect the two ligaments and clean out some bone chips that are floating around in there . So that is going to happen sometime next Wednesday.
Ugh. Sounds like you messed up that ankle real good. Hope all goes well. Wishing all the best for you and steady, careful hands for your surgeon. 😊
Followup with my eye surgeon tomorrow. All seems well but I have a couple questions and he needs to do a dilated exam to check everything out. Nearing the end of this process. Unless there's a problem, it's back to my regular optometrist after this.
Arthur? Interesting. I think my son watched that a bit when he was little. Is it still going today? The only time I have heard of it recently is Neil Gaiman and others mentioning his guest appearance on the show (yes, Neil Gaiman, the black-clad god of modern fantasy, is officially an Arthur character).
Ape wanders in yawning. Kind of a slow day. Nice out, but I have a blister on my heel and a walk would probably be a bad idea, tempting as it is.
Getting late for coffee but, hey, some people never stop drinking the stuff and we do cover multiple time zones. Tea is Lemon Ginger herbal and Jasmine Green. And, of course, hot chocolate is waiting for Sara and others craving it.
Need to liven up the place a bit. Here's a fine young (compared to me) lady from the Netherlands to entertain us.
Ape have pecan divines. Because they are simply divine.😊
Son over for dinner (his partner was doing stuff with her sis so he came alone) and had a nice visit. They are headed home tomorrow but he said they should be back early in May
Yawn. Kind of tired tonight. Have a good one! See you tomorrow.
Oops, so eager to help Ms. Black that I forgot the hot bevvies.
I have put the coffee on (borrowed some Kicking Horse from the bear for you to try) and there's Buddha's Blend (white tea mixed with jasmine green) and Red Rose in the teapots. Hot water urn is filled to the tippy-top for other teas and hot chocolate.
And with that done, I'm off for a walk. Sunny, relatively warm day here.

I think I have super bug in computer. Can't seem to write to people on messenger. Got two separate book orders from Walmart, ordered a couple of days apart, both charged to my credit card. One book $6.95 and one $180 (Chemical Weapons of WWI). What could anyone gain by ordering books and using my charge card, account, etc. and sending me the books? Guess it's time to bring in someone who knows how to turn this thing off and on.
So glad you sold your house so quickly Verbs. Ape, sorry about the employee problem. Can't a man have a day off? Terrible.
Sara, hoping your ankle is healing and doing better. Ouch.
For the credit card one, I would talk to Walmart about returning the books for credit, then get your credit card company to freeze the card and check for other charges that may be pending. You might need to have that card cancelled and a new one issued. Seems like it might have been scooped somehow.
As for Messenger, I haven't tried on here but it's still a bit buggy elsewhere try clearing your browser's cache (in Google Chrome or Edge, I can send instructions. Not sure about Firefox or Safari.)

I love my walks.
Just got back from one myself. Still a bit chilly here, but temp is rising on the weekend and we are supposed to get some Spring-like conditions Sunday-Monday (warm and rainy).

No Talia Thursday. I'm back in the groove - making my thousand words a day
Cats must be happy you've got something to occupy you. Assuming they aren't hiding somewhere plotting your eventual downfall. 😒
Thanks for getting the coffee.
So I can't escape work shit even when I'm off work. One of my team contacted me today to tender his resignation. 😠I just onboarded the replacement for the guy who left before Christmas a couple months ago. Did I even mention I hate being a manager, even if I love the company and environment?

Ape weekly marshmallow delivery is good idea
I work with our supply chain people at work a lot so I guess I'm picking up ideas.😉
Anyhow, settling with tea and cookie for the rest of the afternoon.

Wah! My former employers have just canceled their promise to let me use a copy MS Office free for life. Looks like I have to plunk down $150 for a home version of Office within the next 45 days. I refuse to buy a yearly subscription ($100/yr), and my experiences with OfficeLibre were not encouraging. Grrr.
More tasty greed-shaped cookies please!
Have you tried Google Docs? Works for me and free for the consumer version. And there's OpenOffice, which is actually the original that LibreOffice forked off from but is a rather different beast.
Search for "free alternatives to Word" or similar. There's usually at least a couple current round-up/review articles kicking around on the web to show you some options.
Personally, once I retire, I will probably build a cheap PC with Linux on it and use one of the OpenOffice forks.

Whenever anyone on this side of the Atlantic complains about pro sports salaries, I wonder if they have ever looked into what the European soccer clubs pay some of the superstars in that sport. Their salaries are insane in some cases.
Helloooooooo Nikki! Welcome to the blue side of the (writing) Force!! Nice to see you. Yep, this is our café where we hang out exchanging witty (in our own minds) banter and scarfing Sara's cookies. And you'll see lot of familiar faces.
I use the same avatar but different name here. I think we've crossed paths before. My friends call me Scott. My enemies call me things that aren't repeatable here. Everyone else just ignores me.
And since I'm here now (had login issue this morning which have been resolved), time to put on some coffee.
My local roaster, Fire Roasted, has a line of horoscope coffees so I'm putting on Pisces today since that's the zone we are in right now. Teas are Scottish Breakfast and Russian Caravan. Boiling hot water is available for other teas, hot chocolate, and pouring on baseball owners.
Have a good one, y'all!
