Pork - Perk
Ape is here. Distance vision, including computer, is fantastic. Up close kinda, sorta sucks. Seeing the doc this afternoon for my 1 day followup.
Coffee is on, some fine beans from Costa Rica. Tea is Irish Breakfast and Earl Grey. The kettle is boiled and ready for other teas and hot chocolate. Takes a Daphne and a Velma (because we all know they belonged together, eh).

The house sold fast this weekend, for more than I expected, which is cool. A bunch of dumb little details are gonna follow, but it should all be over in a month.
See the trick is to sell privately so some old guy who just wants the place so he can get his adult kids out of the house but still keep them close enough that he can keep an eye on them. That's what happened with our old place in Hamilton (tiny two-bedroom townhouse). Tend to have few conditions on a sale like that.😉
Hey gang, ape here. Eye went well. Vision is excellent at computer distances and longer. Close up is not so hot (i.e. I'm having a helluva time seeing my phone screen) but they did say I'll probably need reading glasses. Have a followup with the doc tomorrow afternoon to see how things are going clinically, but at first blush I'm a happy ape.
Thanks and hugs to Sara for doing the hot bevvies today. Might need you to do them tomorrow as well. And thanks for the Scooby Doo cookies scarfs an Mystery Machine and wonders if Sara knows how to make Scooby Snacks 😋
Finally got over here.
Coffee is on since I know a lot drink it all day or are West of me. Tea, too. Hit chocolate mix and boiled water for those what want it.
The sequel to The Healer's Secret is coming along well and I have a basic idea for part 3. Haven't started writing it yet, though.

And…we just accepted an offer on the house. Higher than I was expecting, so yay! Weird to work hard for a month and a half, and have the thing sell in 48 hours.
House around here go quickly and often above asking due to bidding wars. It's a bit insane right now and if I was prepared to sell, I could probably get about three to four times what I paid to build my house. However, we have decided to stay put until I retire, by which time the market might have cooled off.

watching Scooby Doo cartoons
On my last vacation before the plague hit, I read a wonderful novel called Meddling Kids by Edgar Cantero. It's about a group of teen detectives who reunite as adults because of the case that broke them up. Other "teens solving mysteries" series get referenced as well but the core group are basically the Scooby gang with the serial numbers filed off. There's even a dog.
I should try writing a story in that vein someday. Supernatural mystery where it all turns out to be a "clever plan" rather than actual ghosts. Not sure I'd make the detectives "meddling kids" though. Maybe a family that solves mysteries instead of just young adults/teens.

How long ago since you had two good eyes, Scott?
I started wearing glasses when I was 8 and I turn 57 this year. Yeah, it's been a long time. No glasses is taking some getting used to. Still instinctively go to take them off when I go to bed. 🙄
Aaaaaand good morning and happy weekend! Coffee is fine dark roast from Nicaragua. Teas are Scottish Breakfast and Cream of Earl Grey. Hot water is ready for other teas or hot chocolate. Marshmallows both on the counter and in Sara's stash replenished from this week's shipment.

This boot is ITCHY!!!
Oh no, I remember going through that when I had a cast on my arm in high school (wiped out on my bicycle and broke a bone in my wrist).

APE If BEAR isn't around the COOKIE PRINCESS can make the coffee and tea
Thanks, Cookie Princess.
Goood morning, Inspirations!! How's it going in your world?
Coffee is from Costa Rica. Tea is English Breakfast and Earl Grey. Hot chocolate is on standby and the weekly marshmallow shipment is received and stowed.
Might be a bit scarce come Monday. I'm getting my other eye fixed up (cataract removed and new, improved lens installed). There's instructions under the counter on how to set up but maybe the bear will be around. He's our other coffee wiz.

Talia and I are debating going to see the opera of The Shining, at the Elle Caulkins Opera House, as a celebration. It's supposed to be really good, and I've never seen an opera before. Plus, IT'S THE SHINING!!!
An opera of The Shining? Will look that up. Curious to see who is the composer.

Number of Pages:Can I turn my google doc into a pdf to send to you?
Just send her a share link. That's what I did.
yeah, I don't want to share access to my google drive document with someone I don't know that well, call me paranoid. it's legitimate and medically diagnosed (schizophrenia). so if she could answer herself on if I can send a pdf in an email with that disclaimer that I get no money and my preferred publishing name, that would be great, thanks.
Download it as a Word file. In Google Docs go to File - Download - Microsoft Word. Then send her the Word file. I don't recommend PDF for this because she needs to be able to extract the text and format to the spec she needs for the publisher.
Thankfully I have MS word on this laptop. I appreciate your help. Apologies for being a bit terse. Just woke up. Bitter cold out. Haven't taken meds yet. But I went on and sent my story. So at least when I am in the passionate throes of my attention span's whimsy I won't have forgotten. It will be good to see my story in print in an actual book
No probs. I have days like that, too. And I'm kind of pumped, too. I had looked at self-publishing some of my stories a few years back but decided I just didn't have time to do a proper job of it.
