I have been fairly fortunate on medication side effects over the years. Occasional mild ones (I fainted once when I started on beta blockers, but the hospital found no problems beyond the new drug) but nothing serious. Hope all is well going forward, red.

Good morning, all. Coffee is a fine Ethiopian. Teas are Scottish Breakfast and Red Rose. Hot water is steaming and ready for other teas or hot chocolate.

Sounds excellent. The inability to message more than one user at a time has caused me frustration. And some of these other features are ones I have had on other sites, including my own, for years. Looking forward to it.

Not likely. I would have to do it carefully given my wonky glucose levels.

WYE live off the grid?

I JUST CRACKED 60K WORDS.

So how long are you shooting for? And are there going to be sequels? And a premium direct-to-streaming series?

Sorry, go carried away there.

We should have a group field trip to Germany

I'd be down with that. I've only been to Berlin and that was in the early nineties not long after the Wall came down. The entire East side was one big construction zone (we stayed in the former West Berlin but my wife's conference was in the East, IIRC).

MLB owners are meeting for three days

To actually down something or just have a party to celebrate. I'm sure there's some arcane way they still make money hand over fist even if there's no games.

Another day, another dollar. I am increasingly looking forward to retirement, I find. Not sure what's changed, but the resurgence of joy in my work I had going for a while there has fizzled out now. 3 more years if I stick with my current plan.

Putting on some lemon ginger and green tea for the evening crowd. Refresh the coffee, too, in case any of the Aussies or others already in tomorrow pop by.

No. Too polite again. Might slip out the back if I wasn't getting the laughs, but not one to heckle. (And I'm with you on karaoke. I frequently joke about how bad my singing voice is.)

WYE take a long trip to someplace exotic by yourself?

Good morning!

Coffee is in the pot and there's Earl Grey Supreme and English Breakfast in the teapots. Hot water is ready for the hot chocolate crowd as are the marshmallows.

So how's life? For the first time in my life, or at least for a good chunk of it, I have 20/20 vision. Too bad it's only in one eye. Second eye is booked now, though so by March, I could be glass-less for the first time in nearly 50 years.

Doing some writing but kind of in a holding pattern for publishing. My next story up is the comp entry that didn't make the cut so I don't want to put it up until the results come in. And then there's the sequel to "The Healer's Secret" which is in draft form but likely still need some work. And there's a story for elsewhere in progress, too. Apparently eye surgery inspires my creativity or something. 😋

which allows me to partake in substances sure to enhance the stupid

Watching an Emmerich film high seems like it would be disappointing. How would you know the difference?🤣

Probably not. I once stood quietly and politely in line behind a famous Canadian musician at a comic store in Toronto.

WYE sing karaoke in a bar full of strangers?

Without. Hate ketchup. And I live not two hours from what used to be one of the biggest ketchup producers in North America (the former Heinz plant near Windsor, Ontario).

WYR play a card game or a board game?

keep your eyes peeled

That's my laser surgeon's job, isn't it? 🤣

Apple cinnamon should go nicely with my evening green tea. Put on a pot of sencha for anyone else in a green-ish mood.

No offense to Carly, who I also like, but Rita Coolidge. That's actually one of my favorite Bond themes. With music by John Barry, lyrics by Tim Rice, and Coolidge on vocals, how can you go wrong? Too bad it deserved a better movie.

Glasses or contacts?

I might even go see an incredibly stupid sci-fi movie tonight (Moonfall) in celebration.

Emmerich does teh stupid so well, eh. I tend to enjoy his movies but with my brain disengaged. None of them holds up terribly well if you start thinking about them.

Ape merrily prances in on tippy-toes.

Coffee is a fine Blue Mountain from Jamaica, and we've got Peach and Red Rose in the teapots. Hot water is ready for them what needs it. Hot chocolate and marshmallows (dang, those are going down fast) on standby.

Lovely day here. Too bad I'm back at work and can't really get out to enjoy it. Later, alligators.

Ape prances back out, whistling a merry tune. 😘

Well, it would be preferable to peeing on the deck, I guess. 😲🤣 But only if I couldn't hold it any longer (which, admittedly, is probably becoming more of an issue😳).

WYE consider taking up acting?

For the Olympics, CBC (who have the Canadian broadcast and streaming rights for the games) has stocked their Gem streaming service with documentaries about China. We have started one by the BBC hosted by Michael Wood, on the history of China. While my wife is Chinese, she's not really that much of a historian so she enjoys watching programs about the subject.

Small vehicle. Even my SUV is a compact model (Honda CR-V). Hate driving anything bigger than a mid-sized sedan/saloon.

WYR drive an electric vehicle or an ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) vehicle?

Sheriff Pepper but only in Live and Let Die. He was a bloody distraction in Man With The Golden Gun

Sean Connery or Roger Moore?

Lol I envy you the 3000 words in a week, two competition stories in two months was hard enough.

Pfft. He is retired and his kids are grown up. Gives him a big advantage over a working parent like you (and like I used to be, now I am just working). Once I retire, I hope to take up writing full-time or at least more hours than now.

I have put on some green tea and lemon ginger herbal for those not wanting caffeine too close to bedtime. And replenished the coffee for those in time zones on the other side of the date line.

Seems to be going well, too.

Wonder if they could allow live links in groups at some point. Posted a link the other day, then realized it was static and folks would have to copy and paste it into their browser to use it. Not in Groups elsewhere so not sure if that is just how it is or is a problem here. I thought Groups used the message engine for posting but links are live in private messages.
