Land Rover, I guess. I have had Jeeps as rentals before and hate them (okay, I hate pretty much anything from Chrysler or whatever the hell they call it now).

Drive or take a train?

Da bear! How's it going James? Seems like polar bear weather round these parts right now.

Good morning! This is supposed to be the weekend I tackle my comp entry and get something submitted but so far, I am just not mustering much interest or energy for writing. Kudos to those who have entries in. I hope to join you soon.

A big "Get Well" wish to all those battling everyone's (not) favorite virus. We are hoping to evade until my eyes are fixed but after that, I'll just cross my fingers and hope it is mild when I finally get it.

Coffee is on for those what need a fix. Teas du jour are Peach and Irish Breakfast. Hot water is ready for other teas, hot chocolate, and whatever other hot beverages you need. There's also our assorted ramen if you're feeling peckish and cookies don't cut it.

Have a good one, Inspirators!

Sorry for my absence. My health is okay, I got hacked HARDCORE yesterday: my phone wouldn't work. Talia called it and some guy speaking a foreign language (not Spanish is all we could figure out) answered. They cloned my sim card and then started branching out from there. Ordered 3 iPhones and a bunch of crap from eBay. He's shut down now, and I didn't lose anything. Still, I was on the phone nearly all day tracking all the activity, and I'm still not sure we found everything.

Grr.

Gotta make up for lost time. A coffee and a cookie would rock!

Ouch. So now we gotta look out for fake verbals trying to sneak into the cafe. Wonderful. digs out shotgun and jacks a round into the chamber

So just imagine dealing with an organization that's been hacked vs. just one phone. shudders and slinks off to have a nightmare flashback

We're in Ontario. Only takeout allowed until January 31st. 😋

Kidding, we're online so there are NO capacity limits (well, as long as we don't get so busy that we crash the server but I can't see this place ever being that active). We can hangout as much as we like. Guess everyone is just busy. I'll get the fireplace going and the coffee on. I've put Earl Grey and Red Rose in the teapots and boiled water for other beverages. Nice, but cold, here.

Plus, Keanu may be a really nice guy, but he isn’t a very good actor.

Preach! I have been a Keanu skeptic since at least Bram Stoker's Dracula.

Oo, mum's the word (but thanks for pointing that (redacted) out). 😉

Almost done work for today. Need more tea to make it through the home stretch, though.

Elise Trouw is turning 23 this year and already putting out some pretty amazing music. This is the title track from her first (and to date only) album from 2017, so she is probably 17 in this video, 22 in the one above.

And, oh yeah, she's also a drummer and damn fine one.

Wow. Just heard today that we had 43 of c. 300 staff at work off due to COVID or self-isolating due to exposure. That's dropped now but I think it's the worse we have seen in the entire pandemic. And the number of COVID cases we are treating is going up again, too (home oxygen is being used to try to keep them at home to reduce the burden on the hospitals).

I am working from home until my eye surgery. No way I am going to risk having the disease from hell mess with that.

Anyhow, coffee is ready, teapots are filled with Wakoucha (Japanese Red) and Lemon. Hot water is out for other teas or hot chocolate.

What will the world be like in 3000 years, eh?

Good to hear. Omicron is really ripping through my part of the world. Besides two of my own team, we've had numerous staff off work due to either illness or close contacts all over the province. Nasty bug.

I am fully vaxxed plus booster. With my diabetes, I'm not taking any chances.

I've decided a cookie a day keeps Covid away ... so, grabbing some!

Didn't work for Verbal but let us know your results. 😇

Good morning. We are all dug out here in Ontario.

Coffee is in the pot. Teapots have Red Rose and Earl Grey. Hot water is ready for other teas, hot chocolate, etc. And a shipment of mini-marshmallows has arrived! They are kept under lock and key in our secure marshmallow pantry, with the supplies on the counter and in Sara's stash replenished. I think Sara has the spare key (which, I suppose, is rather like giving the fox the key to the henhouse 😀).

She's an amazing young poet. First heard of her when she did the Biden inauguration and have listened to some other videos of her since.

I couldn’t sleep and watched this crazy stupid mid 70s sci-fi movie about space ants taking over the world called Phase Four. It was PERFECT.

Oh yeah, that's an oldie but a goodie, eh. Frankly, though, I don't think we need space ants to take over the world. Regular old ants are pretty much there already. IIRC, the biomass of ants vastly exceeds that of humans.

Anyway. Time to do the Wordle. A coffee and a word shaped cookie please.

I haven't done today's yet, either. A guy I know from Wondercafe was posting his results and that got me interested. Just started on Saturday and already fascinated by it.

Hmmm. Blueberry shortbread, eh. Must give that a whirl.

Good evening. Rumours of snow are swirling like, well, snowflakes. The last couple storms have failed to live up to their advanced billing so will be interesting to see how this one goes. Apparently my son up in Ottawa is supposed to get the brunt of it. We nearer to one of the edges.

And a new story from Larry? I could get behind that idea. 😊

I really needed to get something written this weekend.

The due date is Feb. 4 and there isn't the pressure to get votes like on (redacted) so you've got time. I, on the other hand, may be getting my cataracts done soon so that's kind of my deadline.

And Redwriter has joined!

Mine is coming well now. Just need to decide which story to enter. Yep, I have pulled my old trick of writing two. I think I know which one I prefer but it needs some more work.
