Beyond the veil has been described as, a mysterious or hidden place or state, especially the unknown state of existence after death.

“…and yet what you cannot see is there before your eyes. It is the mystery that guards all other mysteries. An enlightened soul once said, ‘See what is before your eyes, and nothing shall remain hidden from you’. It is time to see what is before your eyes…”

What does this phrase bring to you? Is it love, spirituality, or fear of the unknown? Perhaps something more, something deeper. We want you to open your mind and slip beyond the veil.

Thanks, everyone! ❤️

Thank you so much for doing this and for your generosity. 70 words is hard but it brought out some wonderful stories.

Congratulations to TheShyThespian and JamesPBear for taking the top spots.

I hope everyone keeps this energy we have another comp coming in a few weeks!

Okay, y'all are wonderful. You all made it look so easy. Welp, here's my offering. As Verbal said, I've counted it 10 times.

The summer air seemed to buzz with something not yet seen. A cry floated through the air as lightning lit the sky and thunder cracked like a whip, startling the boy. The crying grew, feeling everywhere, surrounding him, racing in on rolling clouds.

The boy froze, no longer feeling the heat of the day.

His parents' warning was true.

“‘No!” his cry was stolen by the wind.

“No,” he whimpered.

This sounds wonderful and I can't wait to read what you all come up with.

Thank you WriterGirl for sponsoring this!

Oh boy. I will keep my distance. 😋 I have only listened to some Laufey (vocal jazz) so far. Considered cranking some metal but decided I wasn't in that kind of mood yet.

Haha, it wasn't bad, I was just dragging and needed motivation. Rage Against The Machine is my grumpy mood band. Haha

Rob Zombie has been my soundtrack this morning. Which says a lot considering it's only 8:45 AM. 😀

A little fun fact some of you may know, I love writing to horror movie soundtracks. One of the best songs to get your heart racing is In The House In The Heartbeat from 28 Days Later. (the title on the link wrote the name wrong)

From that list, I'm definitely going with Butter Pecan. Although, normally when I eat ice cream it's vanilla with melted peanut butter poured over it and then stirred until it's mixed and soft. The funny thing is, I won't buy peanut butter ice cream because I don't like how it tastes. lol

Maxxxine / Pearl / X franchise. Is it worth it?

Absolutely. I wasn't sure about X but I watched it and I was glad I did. There is a moment in it, that hit me on a deeper level. If you ever watch it, I'll talk about it with you. I recommend them. Well, at least X and Pearl, I haven't seen Maxxine, obviously. Fingers crossed they get it right.

Bill Skarsgard seems like a great casting choice for Nosferatu.

I fully agree. I love him. Mom calls him my "pretty man" You know, your pretty man, the younger brother of Eric(True Blood) and Floki(Vikings). Haha, she is bad at names.

This means I will give The Crow a chance, even though I am the only person I know who didn't care for the original.
