THE COOKIE BANDIT IS RIGHT HERE!!!

Finished writer's critique group today, and for once I did NOT feel like an imposter! So that's an excellent way to start the day.

20 days to get a comp entry in, right? Sigh. I promise to read all of them, but not before I get an idea - I almost slole Larry's by accident!

The rest of today: edit the geese story. Grill. Watch the Mets double header (playing the hapless Pirates). Roland, sorry about your Cubbies. They lost 11 in a row and look to be on the cusp of a fire sale. I'm guessing we'll end up with Bryant. And his contract.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Coffee please. And ALL THE COOKIES! HAHAHAHAHHA!!! (That was a maniacal laugh.)

I may be too late to help with the goose story, but found a couple:

Morning, weekend wanderers and wonderers. The big news in sports is the Cubs broke their 11-game losing streak with a 10-5 win over St. Louis. Roland may check in later with details but only after recovering from the post-game celebration.

Meanwhile, the Diamondback bounced back from having their two-game win streak snapped by defeating the Dodgers 5-2 in LA.

And in conclusion, a serious call for, HELP!. Anybody know what a 'Grammarly Integrator' is and what it's supposed to do? Any 'HELP!' would be most depreciated, honest.

Coffee mug in hand, I'll negotiate my way over to the corner table to sit under the old leaky window A/C and wonder why I forgot, once again, to bring my rain hat. (sigh)

Later, Inspirators.

Hope this helps,Rump:

Good morning everyone. That moment when someone asks you to bake a cake and put Happy Birthday in French.
I adore the whole idea of direct interpretation. This type of thing is so funny! It is even better than puns.

Even better than a pun? Then why don't I see more direct interpretation? Probably don't know where to look since I didn't know that was what they were called. Smile.

The weather here is pure goodness and even made me spend time outside spraying deer repellant on select plants. And pulling weeks. You know the weather is good if I can stoop to that.

Second night in a row that Nats and Dodgers are in a rain delay. Fifth inning and they finally called it a win for Dodgers last night. It is fifth inning now and we are tied, so let's see how long this rain lasts. Poor Nats players are injured and it is going to be interesting to see if we can win another game or not.

Roland, I have a couple of puns for you..

Do I have time to get a few things done before I meet a horde of friends for lunch?

To top of the heat, I had a motorcycle safety course for the past three days. I might as well have been working on an asphalt crew in a snow suit. Egad it was hot. We’d take numerous breaks where a garden hose was set up as a mister. We’d gear down, soak our body and clothes, and then gear up again. If you’ve never worn moto body armour before, we’ll, it’s heavy, especially when wet. But we adapted to the situation, drank tons of water, and powered through the training. Riding test was today. Fortunately, I successfully completed it. Lots of benefits including a massive insurance premium reduction. And now we ride.

Yes, I did buy a second bike. 2021 Yamaha Tenere (means desert). Will be using it for future travel plans around our continent. The Ping tour may be coming to a part of the countryside near you. Here’s the dream.

!

So happy you endured that heat (being spoiled normally). All hearty congratulations to your charming children. They are troopers to do so well this past year. And as for your Holiday:

And one of you on your new machine:

Hi everyone!

Congrats to England and the Nationals. (Big Schwarber fan)

Health and joy to all.

Oh Roland, I just love that you like Schwarber too. I call Trae Turner my man just because everyone has to love Karl Schwarber, I want some love to go to Trae. Thanks for the congrats. I am a nervous wreck every time the Nats start a game. But wow, with Schwarber hitting a home run every time he comes to bat, I should be able to relax. Baseball is not a very relaxing game though.

Hooray for England too.

They finished painting the outside of my house and staining the decking and I am thrilled.

Hugs to everyone.

We had quite a storm yesterday afternoon. It disrupted my nap. Victor was sleeping with me and didn't hear a thing.

Victor and Scott's old beagle:

Sara, I have been trying (not too hard) to not eat so many of your cookies, but the cheery cherry's are here, I'm lost. Sorry no one else will probably get any.

Watched baseball again. At least we finally won after two loses to Miami.

Weather was just hot and humid but okay. Rain is probably on it's way soon.

Friday evening here in England, and we have had wonderful thunderstorms tonight in the West Midlands.

The power of nature can sometimes be frightening - and yet so awesome too don't you think?🤨

Thunderstorms are indeed awesome as well as frightening. We have been graced with an overabundance this year. My brother who grew up in Virginia asked what happened to the state he remembered, it looks like a jungle here. actually it looks more like the UK. Green, green, and flowers everywhere.

went to lunch with four of my friends today and as usual much laughter and fun. Our lunches drag on and on. But they should, why end?

Competition and 1,000 words. Even typing that gave me shivers. But I'm thinking, kinda'.

My love to all our group, my Nationals are in big trouble tonight - Nats 2 - Miami 8 in the bottom of the 5th. The cloud of doom is hovering.

Elizabeth, our weather is amazing. I know it can't last but I am enjoying it for now. The heat and humidity will be back by this weekend.

I am looking forward to reading the competition entries. It's always interesting to see how people handle the theme.

I'm going to go outside and do some gardening while the weather is so agreeable.

Have a great day everyone.

Cheers!

Oh Gill, you are so right about this fabulous weather. I can't even walk around outside without pulling weeds. It is even enjoyable. I know it won't last forever, July is coming, but I am never missing a moment in enjoying how beautiful everything is.
I am glad you had such a nice time with your mom and dad. It can be a struggle as you know. Don't forget to pamper yourself and your sweet kitties.
You are a great person - hope you will be out on the water soon.
