Just look up Godzilla Meets Bambi.
Hey! New comp! Right up Ape’s alley, I would think. Really not my strong suit, but I bet I can come up with something.
Rainy and cold here. I’m picking up my electric mower today, after getting it fixed for CHEEP! So cool to not have to buy a new one. I am expecting to mess up my back getting it in and out of the car.
Still wrestling with this weirdo tadpole story.
Cookies look awesome. Molly, did you make coffee whe you popped in with your announcement? sigh Puts on coffee and assorted teas: Drowsy Doggy and Zoomie Kitty.
Enjoy the day!
Good morning everyone. Dozy Doggy herbal tea and Kitty Zoomies black tea are our specials, along with Costco in the percolator. And all the cookies on a fancy platter.
Therapy today, and getting my horribly cracked windshield replaced today. Safelite repair, Safelite replace! You can HEAR the jingle.
Hey, the Mets actually won a game last night. It took them extra innings to do it.
Enjoy the day today everyone.
Still rewriting the tadpole story. I have a bunch of dumb plot stuff I keep having to mess with. Lots of errands today, so I won't have a ton of time.
Sunny, warm day, though, with afternoon thunderstorms - my favorite kind of day.
Hoo boy, are the Mets sucking right now. Sorry Red. And...I see Red has part three up! Looking forward to it.
Thanks for the setup Ape. A coffee and a watermelon cookie would be swell.

Having completed my over-extended involvement with my latest tale, do I now sit back and consider whether I should write any more since each new venture takes longer and is no longer effortless? I could read more (a long delayed pastime) OR with the sun shining and the boxes of seedlings screaming to be planted, I could crawl (not rush) out of my easy chair and do some gardening.
Decisions, decisions! Maybe a cooling iced tea and one of Sarah's tempting pineapple cookies will help me make my mind up.
I loved the first two chapters of this Red. Well told, and absolutely riveting (and timely) subject manner. I'd love to see more.
Sunny warm day, and few errands. I'm rewriting my killer tadpole story today, after it was savaged in critique group last night (actually they were very nice).
Talia is trying to convince me to grill salmon and chicken tonight, and I am more than happy to comply. Yum.
Coffee and a Flamingo cookie please.

Nope, that's The Beast From 20000 Fathoms, based on his short story The Foghorn (the original story is basically one short sequence in the film). That's one of the best pre-Godzilla kaiju films (1953) and is credited as an Inspiration for the first Godzilla film.
Good morning all. Coffee is brewed, teapots are full, fridge has fresh cold bevvies. Hope you're enjoying your weekend. It is lovely here.
Yep, you are right. Both great movies.
In critiquing mode: did novel critique this weekend, short fiction critique tonight. After that I hope to get around to Red's three-parter, I am Viennese. I'll get back to writing someday this week.
Rainy weekend, but things are nice today. Enjoy the day everyone! I'd love a coffee.

One monster, admittedly rather similar to Godzilla in some respects, that I keep coming around to is Gorgo. Terrific British kaiju movie about a mother monster rampaging through London in search of her child.
Loosely based on a Bradbury story I think. Great old movie. I was thinking maybe they found themselves INSIDE the movie The Giant Gila Monster
Looking forward to your writing Red, and glad your ear is better. Glad your ear is better too, Ape. Could your kaiju be a fakey-looking B&W giant iguana from out of a 50s movie? And the characters know it looks all fake?
Anyway, what do I know? Didn't write crap yesterday, but I am back on the horse today.
Thanks for the set-up Ape.
I remember those Airport movies. They were around the tine of all those disaster movies, right? Posieden Adventure? Towering Inferno?
It rained HARD all night, and is cold and gloomy this morning. New story is going poorly. Time to focus.
At least the Mets won. Thanks for the set-up Ape. A coffee would be cool.
Our teas today: Cali Chill and the ever-popular kitty Zoomies. Plus, Costco coffee, ground by yours truly. Cookies by Sara!
Anyone going to see Guardians of the Galaxy 3? I want to, Talia has NO interest. I may hit it some afternoon this week.
Today: writing, walking, dinner, baseball. My kinda day! Should be warm and sunny too!
I'd love a coffee and a cookie.
Good morning everyone. Costco coffee is in the percolator, we have pots of Tasmanian Twist and Kittie Zoomies steeping, and the coronation cookies are on plate.
A few chores today, and no baseball game, so it's mostly a writing day. Have I mentioned the Mets suck?
Nothing much to say beyond that. We got tomatoes and peppers (jalapeno and bell) and mint and basil planted, and the netting up to foil the critters from eating it all.
A coffee and a cookie please.
Gets the Costco coffee a-perking, the teas a-teaing (Zoomie Kitty and Dozing Doggie are our blends today), the cookies on a silver platter
Hey Gill. Good morning!
Had dinner with Talia and a writer friend last night. Really fun, really good conversation and food and beer.
Today I may try to finish a story about a kid turning his parents into zombies, using The Devil's Cucumber. Yes, it's a real thing!
Warm here, threatening to rain.
In other news, the Mets still suck. (Sorry Red.)
A coffee and a cookie!

The Texan I have been dealing with at work is rubbing off on me
Don't let Texans rub against you. Trust me.
Thanks for the set-up, it'll save the shop from my Costco coffee (it's good!) for 24 hours.
Mets got rained out yesterday. So, they didn't lose, at least.
Going out for a beer with a writer friend this evening. Should be fun. today is all writing and chores. It should be a nice warm day.
Coffee and one of those beachball cookies.
Thanks for the setup.
This has been an annoying day so far, with not one, not two, but THREE morning phone calls. It is shocking how i can be retired and still don't have enough time to get crap done.
Anyway. Hopefully the annoyingness wanes, and I can enjoy this day. Mets actually won a game yesterday, which helps (sorry Red).
Surf and turf sounds wonderful!
A coffee and a cookie please!
Man. Crickets and tumbleweeds this morning. Pours two scoops of Costco coffee in the percolator, plugs it in, begins steeping a pot of Lunar Snooze and a pot of Kitty Zoomies (my own private brands). Sets out all those tasty cookies.
Double header with the Braves today, neither of which the Mets are likely to win. Sigh. They are off to a slow start.
Writing and spectating today. I’ll take a cup and a cookie.
Good morning Bear, good morning Elyse. gets all the caffeine delivery methods going, sets out those tasty cookies
Cold and sunny today, though it looks like things will warm up for the weekend. I didn't sleep well, so I might take a break from writing and do some chores (meaning tackling the endless hassle of returning a "refurbished" phone that was locked).
We did our first grilling of the year last night! Marinated soy-vinegar-ginger chicken. T'was tasty.
A coffee and a cookie and I'll be on my way!

Now this I can take much more of. Plus the insights that Scott imparts--
Quote by Mendalla
"realizing I've been awfully quiet of late. I am working on a comp entry for another site but nothing else is really on the go. My planned continuation of Spirits of Tan Maldrin (see sig) is kind of stalled. I have two sequels started".Such input helps me feel less guilty--writing is slow these days. But my Anschluss story is looking too long to attract readers, so I'm looking to see if I can break it into three separate parts, and present them say, one day at a time.
Phew! Got that off my chest- - Is there any tea in the pot?
I got your back Red, here is a selection of fine teas, steeping away. Coffee's going too, for those of us who need their caffiene in a more muscular from. Cookies are out too.
And since the Mets have entered "we suck" mode early this year, so no talk of baseball.
Sunny day, though it's gonna snow later.
That very dark little story turned out very well. I'm gonna submit it somewhere today and see what happens.
Enjoy your day everyone!
Lights the light, perks the percolator, teas the teas, cooks the cookies
No customers for 24 hours. Yikes. Maybe I'll quit blathering about baseball to entice Red back in here. It's not like the Mets are playing well or anything. Lackluster game last night.
Finishing a VERY dark story today. Fittingly, the weather is cold and grey and rainy/snowy. Ugh. At least we haven't gotten hit by pollen.
But I shan't complain! I have hot coffee and a lovely wife and a almost finished story to wrap up.
Enjoy the day everyone.
Ooh, nice new color! I like it! And I'm color-blind, so I'm not even sure what I'm seeing.
Cold and rainy this week, with snow rearing its head occasionally. Yikes! Still, it's gotta be walking weather soon.
Gil and Elizabeth! Nats play the Mets tonight! Any bets? The Mets can't even figure out who they are pitching.
Anyway. Time to write. I blew it off yesterday to critique, I've also been lax about commenting on stories here, I will attempt to be better about it.
A coffee would be wonderful.
No one's been in here for TWO DAYS!?
blinks, sweeps away cobwebs and dust, plugs in the percolator, does the tea thing, eats all the cookies and feels briefly guilty
Short critique day tonight, though I have no stories on the block. But I'll dutifully show, meaning today I must read and critique instead of write.
Tough loss last night for the Metros. No game today.
Coffee and a cookie please.
I dropped my phone yesterday and broke it. Wah. It still works, but the screen is all cracked. So, I JUST pulled the trigger on buying my first Google Pixel. Older model, and refurbished, so cheap-ish, but I am SO PSYCHED to check out astrophotography mode.
Game is about to start. Then the play.
Enjoy the weekend everyone. I'd love a coffee.
Thanks for the set-up, Ape.
Another calm day. Write, listen to Science Friday, and then chill out - Talia has had a hard week, and so I will help her recuperate. A play tomorrow: Where We Belong. I don't know much about it, though the synopsis on the web sounds a little dry.
Enjoy the weekend everyone!
Blinks. Flicks on lights. Makes an emergency cup of Keurig so I can get enough caffeine in me to function. Plugs in the percolator. Sets up pots of English Breakfast and Russian Caravan teas (did I do that right Ape?). Eats ALL THE COOKIES except one, which I put out on a cute little plate.
So, our ace pitcher got thrown out of the game--mid game!--for having an illegal sticky substance in his glove. Bad news for the Mets, but he looked pretty guilty to me. I guess we'll learn more later.
Talia is back! Yay! She's having a tough time catching up at work, but she's getting there.
Me, I have therapy today. After that, writing and a nice dinner and baseball. Too cold for a walk.
Coffee please! And the last cookie!
Hello all.
It's Talia's Back Home Day! Late, but home by midnight. The house will be clean, and Easter Eggs will be hidden.
Mets won a good game last night. We're facing Clayton Kershaw tonight, so I do not have high hopes.
I hope everyone has an excellent day. A coffee and a cookie please!
Does the percolator thing, does the teapot thing, does the fancy cookies thing on a tray.
Talia is home tomorrow! Yay! The house is two thirds clean. I’ll do the last third tonight, after writing and such. Late Met game anyway. They face their fist good team, and the pitching matchup doesn’t look good. Sara’s Braves have first place.
Laying in bed with one of the cats now. Time to get up and face the day.
Coffee and a cookie and a bucket and some Lysol!
Quote by KatarinaTechgoddess
The Rays won yet again today, beating the Boston Red Sox 9-3. That makes their record 13-0! Hopefully, that will bring in the fans. If not, they sent us a coupon for $10 off a ticket.
It's an incredible start, Kat! Certainly better than the Mets, who hover around .500
Percolator is doing its thing, and I have two fine teas steeping in pots. Plus, cookies!
Trying to finish a short story today that just won't end. I don't think that's a bad sign, but who knows?
Talia is home on Tuesday. Meaning this weekend I have to start cleaning the house.
Coffee and a cookie please.
