Scuba diving. It's on the bucket list.
Ride in a submarine or ride in a rocket?

So, this morning, after my virtual meeting, I clicked on the news tab on my laptop and found this article about wind turbines mysteriously falling. Talk about creepy timing!
Giant Wind Turbines Keep Mysteriously Falling Over. This Shouldn't Be Happening. (msn.com)
When I was little I used to pretend the big metal power lines were an army of giant robots, walking around. I really enjoyed your concept Kat. Very original sci fi.
Excellent comp! I’m glad these last two excellent stories rolled in. But where is Ping?
No Talia. ;). Therapy and lunch with daughter, then try to write. Supposed to be hot and dry today, but it’s pretty cloudy out now.
Mets won a game! According to ESPN they have a 37% of winning tonight. Sigh.
Thanks for the set up! A coffee and a cookie please!

Oh, I thought today was the deadline. I just submitted my entry. Ah well. if it's too late, so be it. I've been traveling and then sick with a stomach bug. But I figured I'd at least send it in. Now I need to get reading the others after supper.
My bad! It closes today! We’re up to ten! Yay! And I think there are more coming!
walks in whistling, grinds up Costco beans, slaps them in the percolator, begins steeping Kitty Zoomies and Slovenly Sloth teas, put out all the cookies I haven’t yet eaten
Talia is going back to the office full time. Wah. Every weekday will be No Talia. Just me and the cats now. I am going teach them to do crossword puzzles.
Hot and sunny today - we have had very little of that this year, it’s been so rainy and stormy. So, I can dig it.
Comp is closed. I’ve read and voted/commented on everything by the deadline, albeit barely.
A coffee and a cookie please.
Costco beans are in the percolator! Kitty Zoomies and Drooling Doggy are our tea blends.
The comp is shaping up nicely, with a really strong entry from the Shy Thespian.
Chill day today - no rain for a change! - I'll be feted early for Father's Day by the daughters, then mow and putter about the garden, then kick back with a Father's Day bowl of herb and watch baseball. Ah, the simple life.

Running, dog walking, enjoying nature with our daughters and dog, travel, and much less now since our children were born motorcycle riding (wind therapy). We like to travel too - see interesting places both interstate and intrastate and when our kids get old enough to enjoy the adventures, back to international.
Wind therapy made me laugh.
Walk, read, write, plays and movies. Minor league baseball. Nice restaurants. Working in the lawn and garden here at home.
We rented an Airbnb for an eclipse in October, and did one in Chicago last year, that is something we are be going to do more of. Cheap, and you get to stay in cool neighborhoods, not hotels in the middle of business districts. I REALLY recommend trying it

How about the Blue Jays? They're six games over .500, and would be in FIRST PLACE in the AL Central, AL West, or NL Central – and where are they in the AL East?
Fourth place, and 10 1/2 games out of first!
In fact, in the AL East, only the Boston Dead Sox are below .500 – by ONE GAME: at 34-35
Oy gevalt!
That's nuts! It's a scary frikkin division, with some serious rivalries. I wish you well. The Metros are just trying to string together two wins in a row.
The comp has some strong entries, though it'd be nice to have ten. I think that Magnificent Bastard Ping is still entering. Sir Ping?
Bright and sunny now, but AGAIN a big rainstorm is supposed to hit this afternoon. Oh well. I like em. So do the tomatoes. I have a little mesh tent over the plants to keep animals from eating them, and it's protecting them from these crazy storms as well.
Off to read the Ape's entry.
Have a great weekend!

Ah, the bittersweetness of a victory that you know you would have lost absent the other guy f-ing up or some stroke of luck.
From ESPN: "A day after misplaying a catchable fly into a double during a one-run loss to the Yankees, Nimmo ended a rally when he was thrown out at second base while taking a wide turn. And that was just one of a series of blunders by the Mets, who made two errors as the Yankees scored twice without a hit, allowed a runner to steal home and got called for just the second violation of this year's new shift restriction."
Didja catch that "Yankees scored twice without a hit?" Damn near impossible.
(Sorry, Red.)
Looking forward to reading it Ape.
I'm not writing this week. Just burned out on it. Taking my foot off the gas pedal. Sigh. Took a very long walk yesterday, and got caught in the rain. I like dodging afternoon storms. And I don't mind getting wet. I'll take another very long walk today I think.
The Mets actually won a game, and treated it like they won the World Series. You gotta find hope where you can - they looked awful last night. But...they won!
That's about it. My brain is made of rubber this morning. Coffee and a cookie would be great.

It took a major re-write, but I think…well, it really doesn't matter what I think, does it?
Yeah, mine took a rewrite to finish too. And I think Ape's as well.
We have had SO MUCH RAIN the last few days. Drying out today, and then a fresh batch of storms. Crazy. El Nino, allegedly. At least the tomatoes are digging it.
Nothing much going on here. Mets got beat down by the Yankees, as expected. Sigh.
At any rate -no setup! Costco beans are ground and percing, Kitty Zoomies and Boisterous Beagle are our teas. And Sara's fine cookies in their cookie jars.
See you all later.
