Morning all.

I start every morning making five phone calls and sending two emails. That's the White House, my Congressmen, State Representatives, and the Attorney General of the Free State of Colorado. Takes me about ten minutes, and is my second week straight doing it. I'm going to keep doing it.

I'm here. It's cold and snowing. Sorry, I've been laying low these last few days. I'm a little scattered. But I'm still here.

Writing goes well, though it has become really difficult to listen to the news.

tumbleweeds Where is everyone?

You know what they say, when life gives you tumbleweeds, make tumbleweed-ade! In addition to a large carafe of tumbleweed-ade, we have tumbleweed tea! And some tumbleweed bars! Plus our regular Costco coffee.

A warm sunny day. Should be lots of melting snow today in the street. It’ll set us up for a nice weekend.

Daughter will be going in for some major surgery soon. Sigh. Hopefully things will be just fine.

It is snowy and windy here - not exactly a blizzard but not far removed. Happily we don’t have to go to in it.

I guess I am making coffee now tea and treats again. The percolator is perking, the tea is abrewing, and the cats are making a nice big batch of rice crispy treats. With hardly any cat spit in them!

I only got about 500 words in yesterday. Gotta hit it hard today. I guess the weather is conducive to that.

I hope everyone is well. My daughter has a potentially scary doctor visit today, if you wanna throw some good healing vibes or prayers in her direction, that would be lovely.

Same old thang here. Snow is everywhere, though temps are in the 40s today so a lot of it should melt. I am going to try not to walk in the slush, but chores beckon.

Rewriting chapter 5 today. Sigh.

No plans. We didn’t go see A Complete Unknown yesterday. But we saw two excellent movies on streaming: Blink Twice (SO good) and A Real Pain. Wonderful double feature.

I’ll just grab a mug of yesterday’s coffee and heat it up in the microwave. That’s how I used to start every morning, back in the day.

I slept well, as did Talia. We are beginning the day at IHOP, just because. Eggs and bacon and hash browns. Yum!

No appointments today! I get to write and walk today. Coolness.

My eyes are fine, according to the doc. All the better to see the world with. Therapist today. All the better to see the world with too.

Cold morning out there, but warmer than yesterday. I should be able to get a full day of writing in, with only the therapist appointment to interrupt me. Maybe I will get out in this cold and walk today.

Hello everyone! Glad you are enjoying the cruise, Ape.

Listening to the inauguration, as Talia sleeps beside me and the cats eye me warily. It’s -1, but it’s supposed to get up to 9! I have an eye doctor appointment today- I am bummed I have to leave the house.

I’ll sneak behind the counter and grab some day old coffee and maybe steal a lemon bar. Costco coffee and Zoomy Tail tea are abrewing! I brought some rice crispy treats!

Cold as f here today--single digits--and a ton of snow on the driveway. I'm going to shovel it in stages, and make it an all afternoon project.

Aside from that, call my aunt, who just got out of the hospital, outline the new chapter, and, of course, a little No Man's Sky at the end of the day.

Really excellent comp, and I am genuinely surprised to be on the podium, and to share it with two great writers here. Congrats to everyone who won, placed, and entered. It was among the best comps I have ever seen here! Thanks to Molly for an excellent comp theme, and for putting all this together.

I'm with you, Bear, in that spending the entire trip on the boat sounds fine to me. We're eyeing it.

Big Freezy Mega-Cold weather moving in tonight. We are setting in with leftovers and movies. Gonna get cold out there. And then comes Inauguration Day on Monday. We are hunkered down.

Morning everyone. We are going out shopping today to prepare for The Big Freeze over the weekend. Dipping into the negative digits. Sigh. I am not leaving the house.

Sad news about Elliot Lacey. I am unexpectedly moved by it, and by the idea of the words you leave behind when you go. He has a bunch of crime stories here I didn’t know about. I will read some over the weekend.
