My head hurts

My muscles ache

My whole body is in a terrible state

I call for you

You come each time

Give me comfort

And ease my mind

Taking my meds

And eating a meal

Then in your arms I go once more

I am asleep at the drop of a hat

When I wake I find you still there

You stay with me

And keep me safe

Watch over me

And push all the bad dreams away

Please don't worry

And shake your head

I'm doing what you and the doctor said

A good patient I am trying to be

Trying to do as I am told

 Not to be a bother

But as the meds wear off I am lonesome once more

Feeling sorry for myself as the pain comes back

I hurt and I don't want to feel like that

We repeat the same thing again and again

Back to my safe place until I gain the strength my body needs

I am getting better I have to be

I can see your eyes smiling back at me
