Author's Notes

"I’m sorry. Sometimes my sense of humor is a little twisted. (Smiles)"

How wonderful when a lovely woman named Ines brought me home. I was beginning to think no one ever would.

Now, I sit all comfy and toasty warm in the window seat. The last of the leaves fall.

What’s this? Ines is outside. She heads to the shed, her grey curls tucked up under a fuzzy red hat.

She returns dragging a shovel. Why’s she digging a hole?

Oh no, I have a bad feeling.

Her smile twists crooked as she plops me into the ground and pats the dirt around me. I can’t move.

Frost arrives overnight.

Dammit, Ines!
