The Ghostly Mist

The Ghostly Mist

White Mist

I wrote this before but now its more real

more real than ever before

the white mist came by one night

and scared me right to the core

I gulped hard and fear gripped me

as the mist went to and fro

and before it changed direction

I ducked down way below

I looked back up to see it go

and then flip around and come back

the hairs on my neck stood out

outside the night so black

Then all of a sudden it changed direction

and it came right up to the window pane

I could almost see the eyes look in

oh my gosh was I being lame?

I dropped to the floor

my heart pounding like a drum

as I realized I just saw a ghost

and I was suddenly overcome

I soon got my nerve up

to run to safety first

the mist still beckoning me

I did not want to be cursed

Then unmistakely clear

the laughter soon came to me

I was unaware that no doors or walls

exist in the Spirit world you see

I never forgot that day it came

and the way it teasted and taunted me

but next time I ever see a mist

I wont run or hide or drop to my knees

I will find out what it needs

and who it wants

and never again

entertain its haunts
