Cosmic Man

Have you ever met the man
Born with a universe deep within.
A home to stars and galaxies
Wrapped in human skin.

He can be still and quiet
A space devoid of noise
Reminding you that silence
Is still eternity’s voice.

When he does talk, it seems
As if time chooses to pause,
Basking in his brilliance,
Before it chimes an applause.

He loves with the passion,
Of a million suns colliding.
And he knows how a star,
Shines bright when it’s dying.

He embraces the dark,
As fiercely as the light.
For he felt how the stars
Have always loved the night.

But the world teaches him
That his expanse is wrong.
And he needed to fit in,
If he wanted to belong.

So he condenses himself,
Pretending to be small,
Almost reducing into
A lonely black hole.

Now he only smiles quietly,
When I tell him he’s stellar,
And replies shaking his head,
“Nope. You are.”
