I was sittin’ by myself in a dusty little bar,

Halfway ‘tween the jukebox and my broke-down car.

A 20-something brunette was a drinkin’ all alone

When in walked Blondie and my flesh turned to bone.

Blondie was a looker, dressed up real fine;

Brownie wore glasses, was about twenty-nine.

Blondie’d been around the block a time or two;

Brownie wore a heart-shaped red tattoo.

Here I was a settin’ all confused upon a fence-

Should I choose enthusiasm or ex-peer-ee-ence?

My eyes wandered over Blondie's long blond hair,

I held her eyes a second and rose to go over there.

About forty-five, I thought. Blondie held my gaze,

When Brownie called out, “Bring another down my way!”

The barkeep pulled a beer deep into that glass.

She stretched out to reach it. I could see she had some sass.

The barkeep walked away from Brownie, a swagger in his behind.

She winked at me and gave a look that said she wouldn’t mind.

Now here I was a settin’ all confused upon the fence-

Should I choose enthusiasm or ex-peer-ee-ence?

Blondie had experience as any man could tell,

Her curves promised every man she could truly ring his bell.

Brownie had enthusiasm as any man could see,

A giggle and a jiggle but no repartee.

The barkeep was gray-haired ‘n’ I was thirty-eight,

I was looking pretty good and he was looking great.

Blondie called out Brownie, “Hey, I don’t mean no offense,

Would you prefer enthusiasm or some ex-peer-ee-ence?

Now here I was a settin’ all confused upon that fence-

Which one would choose enthusiasm and which ex-peer-ee-ence?
