Time goes slow,

As I sink into an all-time low.

My heart beats pain as I strain my eyes looking for a better future.

All doors closed but I keep an open mind

Left alone, I am the last of my kind

I got comfortable, in a home that wasn’t mine

Sleeping every day thinking; everything would be fine

Instead, I should have been preparing for the storm to come

I should have been on the lookout and on the run

I’m not ready yet!

To live a life of regret

Can time wait?

Will I escape my fate?

Every second brings me a minute closer

And every minute an hour closer

As I desperately search for closure

I lived in the moment

I now live in torment

My feet bleed as I walk on broken dreams

My mouth muzzled on unspoken screams

I read through bible verses, hoping to break my curses

Men with no faces, try to steal my destiny

But I keep fighting, till they get what’s left of me….
