Author's Notes

"A poem of acceptance."

The wind blows down Western Avenue
As I follow your memory home
Waves crashing upon the shore of Lake Michigan
Creating ice bulbs that make no sense

All the heartache gone
I feel you in the breeze
I'll never let it go

Holding your hand
As we stroll through the Empire
Inside of our memory

What was done
Can never be undone
Every heart is going to bleed

So here we are in Glen Arbor
You and I
Glen Arbor on the shores of an inland sea

Fresh water
Sand Dunes

Close my eyes

Skin touched by a gentle wind

Time keeps coming

And now

I can feel
What I could not see

You and I

Held to the hands of time

Yes

This is what love can be
