No, I can not understand why people do that. Being gored by a bull is not something I ever want to be in danger of happening to me.

Probably not. They don't do much for me even as a viewer.

Yes. Knew a couple who did just that. Sold their house and most everything else, bought a 44ft ketch and sail around the Caribbean and NE coast of South America.

My wife and I have talked about it and I know someone who sort of did it (bought a fifth wheel and truck to pull it, lived in a trailer park out West in winter, traveled in summer). Not sure we actually will, though. Interest seems to have waned

YES! Cunard, especially offers those kind of cruises. Actually, quite cheap considering everything is included, including meals.

Would you ever hike the Appalachian Trail, either continuously from beginning to end at one time or in segments over time?

Don't know that my joints would hand that anymore but maybe in segments. Walking and hiking are kind of my principle forms of exercise nowadays, at least outdoors.
