Since this is a column also about inspirations, I just finished Denim Angel's stories and poems. There is something "magic" in her writing. It is always something that makes me either smile, or makes me reverent. She is quite an inspiration! Now what is this I hear she bakes ginger cookies? Lawwwdy, Lawwwwdy, Miss Clawwwwdy!!
I am just gum-smacked!
Morning, Larry, and many thanks for the coffee. Glad to learn you and Vic have the monster situation in Kansas well in hand -- or paw, as the case may be. ;)
It is a truth, if not exactly universally acknowledged, at least accepted as gospel aroun here, that Sara's cookies are a major goodness. ;)
Coffee's ready for your enjoyment. Wonder which cookie will go best with that blessed brew? Guess the best bet is to try 'em all just to be sure the right one gets picked.
I need to do some baking.
I am looking forward to going away this weekend. Not sure how long I'll be away, maybe the whole week. I love going to the beach in the winter. Nothing to do but relax, take walks, visit my favorite lighthouse, eat out, watch some mindless tv and not worry about a thing for a while. I've forced others to step up and help out with family obligations.
I hope everyone is doing well.
I'll take a few cookies and hopefully get to bed at a decent hour.
Cheers!
Morning story spacers and congrats on making it to the official, authorized, legendary TGIF festivities.
The coffee pot has been rinsed out (more or less) and is now filling with some of the wettest water available combined with a heaping helping of US Navy coffee (it'll float any Government Issued spoon) you won't soon forget -- try as you might.
Hope you have a great weekend, Gil. No doubt my invite to join you has been hung up in the mail. ;) Don't take all of Sara's cookies when you go and maybe, just maybe, there'll be a cocktail umbrella or two waiting when you return.
I am just back from the beach (week at an all-inclusive in Jamaica). It was a nice break from the routine but not my best vacay ever.
I can't start taxes until March generally (Canadian deadline is usually late April). The deadline for employers, fund managers, etc. in Canada to issue slips and receipts is the end of February and there's always a straggler or two.
Kettle's on. Anyone else for tea, cocoa, etc.?
Sonja did not have a cat. So why was this one making itself at home in her house?

The metal singer made Brenda an interesting offer, but was her interest in the music ... or him?

I'd love to go to a warm beach but we are only heading a bit south to North Carolina. So no swimming or sunning, but plenty of fresh air, surf fishing, fantastic views of the ocean and solitude. Not many people head to the shore in February. For me, that is the draw. I can be as solitary as I need to be.
I don't want to think of taxes until I get back.
Sarah, the teddy bear cookie cutter is adorable.
I'll bring back some seashells to decorate a shelf here.
I hope everyone is doing well today and will have a great weekend.
Nothing to drink for me right now. I might be back later.
Cheers!
Thanks for the delicious cookies, Sara! I'll make a pot of coffee to go with them!
The wind has (temporarily) dropped from 40 mph to 20-odd today, so I might even get put for a walk today before we get another battering of 50 mph winds tomorrow!
