Goodness, Mer. The Coffee house is here for the members of Stories Space. You are always welcome here. Anyone can make coffee when they wish to do so, or make some tea. I try to keep some coffee in the urn. The tea kettle is always close to boiling.

A large coffee would be great .. A late drop in for me .its been a long day.

Last night was Ruff. My sister thought it was a fun idea to call every 2 hours after midnight to give me updates on my mom. She's back in the hospital her diabetes was acting up (blood sugar low and couldn't get it back up) so they are keeping her for a couple of days to run some tests.

Had a story time with Scamp's littlest fans and they loved the story I had to make up by the seat of my pants since the pastor wanted to sit in on it since his kids have bragged about scamp..

I have cookies for the cookie jar
Today's offerings are
Chocolate chip, white chocolate chip, red velvet cookies and ginger snaps *
*filling the cookie jar and giving the adorable mascots fresh water and treats *

Sarah, I hope your Mom gets better soon.

I'm back after enjoying a week away at the Outer Banks, NC. I love the beach in the winter. It's almost deserted this time of year. We spent most of the time, reading, taking walks, visiting favorite lighthouses and eating good food. I hope everyone has been well. I need to read back a few pages.

Greetings to all afflicted with a severe case of Blue Monday-itus. The good news is it only comes around once a week. Of course, the bad news is today is the day. (sigh)

To add to the growing collection, one of the most famous lighthouses in Canada. Haven't been there in a long time but my wife taught in Halifax for a couple years in the early nineties (I actually proposed in her apartment there) and we visited Peggy's Cove then.

A large coffee with some hot chocolate sounds like a really good idea at the moment
Good thing I brought more cookies... Dang cookie bandits
Today's cookie offering are :

I'm pretty sure that Sara makes treats for folks with diabetes. She will check in later and let us know, Mer. I've had a good day. I finally finished some writing. I think I will be proofing a story for a friend later today.

It is afternoon so I will have some tea. I cannot drink more than three cups of coffee or I won't get to sleep tonight. I usually have Tetley black decaf.

Green tea for me. I am sufficiently caffeinated for now.

We've gone from shoveling snow to splashing in puddles in 48 hours. Gotta love this crazy winter.

So how y'all are? Mary Ruth, sorry I missed ya but glad Sara was available to give you a proper 'Inspirations' welcome and some of her no sugar, no carbs, no calories, no kidding, cyber cookies. ;).

About the only rule around here I'm aware of is the first person to show up each day gets the coffee cooking and makes sure hot water is ready for the tea sippers

Oh, yeah, it's considered a goodness to supply Victor, Larry's dog of distinction with a treat and/or treats.

Oh, this is really just like a break room at an office. Whoever needs coffee makes it. Ditto boiling the kettle. The only rule is there must, absolutely must, be mini-marshmallows. You don't want to see Sara when she can't them for her hot chocolate. The last time it happened ... yeah, we don't talk about it anymore.

Well, completed that task, folks. My federal and state tax returns were filled out and filed online this afternoon. All done until next year, once again.

I'm boiling the tea kettle. I need some tea at the end of the day. Thanks for all the goodies, Sara. Miss Purr and Victor both enjoy whatever treats you have for them.

I just saw the news about the tornado in Nashville, Tennessee. I have an old friend who lives there. I am waiting to hear from him about how he fared there.

Well, great news. My friend did not even get any wind with the tornado that tore through Nashville. It killed about 25 people thus far which is not good news, at all.

The news is a bit alarming these days. Between tragic weather events, a spreading virus and politics, I am not sure I want to watch the news.

I am a happy woman tonight. My new bathtub arrived and the remodel is coming along. We demoed the rest of the floor and can now move the plumbing as needed. My neighbors were probably amused yesterday when they saw me lying in the tub in my driveway. That is where it was delivered and I needed to check to see if it had been damaged. I knew the dimensions but wanted to make sure it was the right size. It's been a life long dream to have a tub that is deep enough for me to have my legs and boobs under the water at the same time. I can with the new tub.

I'm enjoying a quiet house now. Two of my kids came over for dinner when they found out I was making huevos rancheros. It was nice to have them here but the quiet after is nice too.

I'll have a small ginger ale while I try to figure out my schedule for the rest of this week.

Hi, Gill. Sounds like you're having fun with your remodel. Hope it goes well. My tubs are both on the small side. We could have done a big one in the en suite but Mrs. Mendalla didn't think we needed it since neither of us uses tubs much. At this point, I think we are going to hold off on any major reno. Retirement looms for both of us and we are empty nesters now so may just spruce up what we have to make it more marketable in the event we sell. There's a non-zero chance Little M might move further afield once he graduates (he's already about 6-8 hours away) and Mrs. M wants to be close, esp. if he eventually has kids. Being a doting Grandma is on her wishlist.

Anyhow, coffee is brewing, kettle is on, and I picked up some muffins and pastries for the breakfast bar. And, of course, there's always Sara's cookie jars if you just want a snack.

Out of curiousity (and as one somewhat soured on Canada's system), how long did you wait for that? Getting an MRI here is like pulling teeth unless cancer or some other life-threatening condition is involved. And even then, it's not always quick.

The availability of things like MRIs and CT scans can vary by regions and cities here in the states. For us here in my city I can set up an appointment for a scan of any kind within days.

I saw my General Practitioner on the 28th of February. While at his office his staff scheduled the MRI at the nearby hospital for today, the 4th of March. I had already had one on the 27th of January but it was for a different area of my body. Quite often it is based on my own schedule. I could get in earlier or later depending on my own preference. Over the past five years, as I have fought with all the different cancers I have experienced, I have had scans often. I've never had to wait longer than a few days, perhaps two or three weeks.
