I'm enjoying the coffee today. Also enjoying the rest we are getting.

Hi everyone
A beautiful sunshine day here on my mountain
I hope everyone tried to have a good weekend
Not much going on here today just maybe listening to music and watching Netflix splurged on a couple of ebooks this weekend.

I have cookies today
In Big Bird we have carrot cake cookies, oatmeal orange, almond cookies and cinnamon stars
In Cookie Monster we have carrot cake cookies, butterscotch marshmallow bar cookies, butterscotch sugar cookies and cappuccino royale

*giving the sweet little mascots fresh water and treats *

Stay safe everyone!

Nice day here. Might get out for a walk after dinner. Had to get some stuff we ordered from a couple stores (curbside pickup) so that took care of my lunch hour and breaks, else I might have gone earlier. Ontario released a very high-level plan for re-opening with no actual dates involved, just conditions to be met to trigger the first phase. We do know that school is out until May 31 at minimum.

* grabs a tea and... * She brought CARROT CAKE COOKIES AGAIN!!! * scarfs two and heads for his chair *

Sonja did not have a cat. So why was this one making itself at home in her house?

The metal singer made Brenda an interesting offer, but was her interest in the music ... or him?

It's Tuesday. That chronological factoid raises a logical question, at least by Inspirations standard. Who cares?

The good news is there are some carrot cake cookies still available. The bad news is they're going fast. Fortunately, the two I grabbed will go just right with the coffee that just finished brewing.

Y'all do the best you know how.

It's the afternoon. I had a bad night and morning. I couldn't seem to sleep and then, finally, around 4:00 a.m., I noticed a pain in the tummy/right side. It would not go away. I started thinking, as it got worse, that it could be my appendix.

It was growing acute so I got up, dressed, and awakened my wife to get her up and ready. I had decided I needed to get to the emergency room.

We have wonderful medical facilities here and I live only about 15 minutes from the hospital. I got there, wife driving, and went in. She was not allowed to accompany me inside so she waited in the car. I was placed in a cubicle in the emergency room, had my vitals took, and my blood was drawn. I was lucky that the Covid-19 has not hit our county hardly at all. But still, we were all taking the best precautions.

I had a CT scan taken and after the results were given to the surgeon we found that I had an area of edema (swelling) in the mesentery associated with my small intestine. It was not appendicitis or any other kind of thing that would need surgery. That's good news. The bad news is the pain we are talking about. They seemed to control it somewhat giving me morphine in the hospital. I do have pain medications that I have been taking for some time now because of pain associated with all of my cancer tribulations.

It is now getting towards 1:45 p.m. and I am just figuring out how to mix and match meds to get some kind of relief. Right at this moment is the first instance of no pain I have had since last night. I am going to have to get an appointment with my primary care physician and decide what we can do. This is, unfortunately, going to be a situation where you 'manage' the pain.

I am finally getting some coffee into me.

Y'all be safe now, hear?

howdy folks
A large sweet tea would it the spot.
A quiet day here on my little mountain it's beautiful and sunny outside. The birdies are chirping.

Not much going on here. I might get some writing done. Loving the library's e-book app I got the latest James Patterson book The House of Kennedy. I think it is gonna be good.

Larry I hope you feel better soon. Victor will be a good nurse .

I hope everyone is staying safe and trying to do things to make yourself smile.
I have cookies for everyone...looks like carrot cake cookies are a big hit.

Today in Big Bird we have : maple walnut, macadamia nut cookies, peanut butter blossoms and apple cinnamon whippersnappers.
In Cookie Monster we have : cheery cherry cookies, cherry bombs, chippers cookies, peanut butter blossoms
I have a glass jar filled with the ever popular carrot cake cookies.

*giving the adorable mascots fresh water and treats *
Stay safe everyone!

Larry, I'm sorry to hear that you have another medical condition to be concerned about and that requires care and management. I hope you see your doctor quickly. Rest up if you can, pain and stress are terribly tiring.
Thank you, Gypsy. I'm feeling much better. I had a good night's sleep. Now the coffee is on for anyone that needs a cup.

I am so glad you got a good nights sleep. You certainly needed it after the night you had before. I will be waiting to hear when you have your appointment with your regular doctor.

Sun out this morning and a beautiful day to pull weeds, walk and pick flowers for the house . False Forget-Me-Knots are beautiful and very tiny but the color is not to be found on another blue flower.

I hope to enjoy the weather as we are getting up to 2" of rain starting in the morning and lasting two days. My brother lives in Tucson and they are to be 104F. I feel for you folks out in the desert unless you have cooling. Not time to do outside work if you don't have to.

Sara, so neat about the library e-book app, I will have to look into that. Meanwhile I am so glad there is still a macadamia nut cookie left. And I won't pass up the broken pieces of the cheery cherry coolies. You are the best baker I know.
hi everyone
Sorry the cookies are late but I got distracted
Not much going on here today in my little world. Helped the landlord out today and got treats for it.
Tried to get some writing done and nothing came to me... MEH

Coffee is good today. I'm feeling alright, Bill. I seem to be able to control the pain with the meds I have at home. That's good enough.

A large sweet tea would hit the spot right now

Not much going on here except a horrible case of writer's block (meh)
Headed out in a little bit for a mini grocery run (woo-hoo)

But I have cookies all are diabetic friendly and both jars are filled to the tippy top :

The coffee is freshly brewed and the water is hot. Plenty of Sara's cookies still left to share.

It's a TGIF morning in Inspirations. Y'all be sure to share some (inspirations, that is, not Sara's cookies).

Anybody have any info on the Survivor? He's one tough nut but pain hurts.

Anyway, coffee's ready for drinking and there's hot water for the tea and coco crowd. Add in a few of Sara's cookies and you got a snack to be savored.

Damn, Sara hasn't been in, yet. * checks cookies jars and scarfs last lemon bar *

How's things? Wrote a battle scene set in the milieu of "Night of the Wind". In fact, it's a flashback to Dev's past that will likely be part of a new story about him. We shall see. IOW, I am writing and things may be coming.

Lovely day here, which was unexpected. They were originally calling for us to get a week of showers and rain.

Sonja did not have a cat. So why was this one making itself at home in her house?

A large sweet tea is prefect for this beautiful sunshine day
Not much going on here.
Helped a friend get down about a bazillion canning jars out of cupboard and I was a guinea pig for a couple new recipes.

Todays cookies are sugar cookies with pretty sprinkles shaped like palm trees.sunglasses.ice cream cones.cupcakes and sunbursts. They are diabetic friendly too

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words and thoughts. My Mom is doing well and the rest of my family is healthy. I really can't ask for more right now.

Larry, I hope you are feeling better.

Sare, the cookies all sound delicious.

The weather here is beautiful today except for the high pollen counts. I was going to go out but since I am sneezing I don't want to alarm other people.

I've been cooking and baking a lot. I have a new favorite cookbook author, Tieghan Gerard. Half-Baked Harvest is the name of her latest cookbook. I followed her on first and have not had one recipe that didn't turn out well.

Tonight it was Roasted Lemon Artichoke and Brown Butter Pasta.

I hope everyone is healthy and safe tonight.

I'll take a few cookies and have a lemonade.

Cheers.
Last week somehow got really busy, so I'm just catching up with everyone's news. Hugs to you, Gill!

Larry, so sorry to hear about your trip to the hospital. I do hope they are getting to the bottom of the symptoms and most importantly, the pain levels are being dealt with. Hugs to you too!

Sara, I hope your writer's block eases soon and Scott, glad you are writing!

Hi to Elizabeth and Bill and anyone I've missed! I'll grab a coffee and one of Sara's wonderful cookies.
It's Saturday, there's hot coffee and cookies and I've finished moving if not settling in. Y'all keep Larry in your thoughts and prayers. These days just about everybody needs some good vibes sent their way, just ask Gill, but try to save a few for our, Survivor.

Will definitely keep our Larry in my thoughts and prayers, Bill.

Glad you are moved, but I'm sure it will take a wee while to get settled in. Hope your wife is doing well.

Sara, those cookies sound so delicious I'll think I'll have one of each with my lemon and ginger tea.
My oncologist called me on Friday to find out how I was doing. From what I understand when a person gets this condition, which presents as edema (a swelling) in the pelvic region, the only thing to do is find a level of pain medications to manage the pain. The pain is in the mesentery of the adjacent bowel loops. I keep thinking I have found the appropriate pain meds and then it stops working. I will send her another message on Monday to discuss my health.

It usually lasts for a week, so if I am lucky it will get better by Tuesday.

I will try to keep on getting on.
Larry, this is just my humble opinion, but have you considered giving up constant pain as your hobby of choice? ;)

Coffee's ready for consumption and the tea kettle is full of hot water for the tea and coco crowd. Best I can tell, a representative sampling of Sara's most excellent cookies are available.

Y'all do the best you know how.

Hi, folks. It is incredibly hard to explain what is going on in one's body without using medical terms. Just as anyone does I look up each term for the definition and then try to work out what I can do about it.

As I have tried to explain here in the coffeehouse the radiologist has found edema (swelling) on the mesentery which is an organ that attaches to the small intestine and the wall of the abdomen. It is clear that the only treatment for having pain in this organ, presumably caused by the swelling, is pain medication. And this condition seems to last about a week. So we will discuss it again tomorrow, see if there are better pain meds available.

People always want to get a good solution to the problem. My fear is that there is no cure. I will perhaps learn to live with it and moderate it.

Now it is time for some freshly made coffee.

Ugh. Hate those conditions where the only solution is "relieve symptoms and wait". Take care and hope you and your doc can work something out.

Nice day here. Just relaxing and doing some admin work on the board where I am part of the "staff". The link is on my profile, I think, and my profile there links to here. There's some folks there who like my writing.

Tea and some cookies. I'll be over here by the fire.

Of course the folks like your writing. No surprise to me. I am happy you have hooked them up here.

I am so upset with the horror of mass shooting has become part of your country. Very sorry. Thank goodness there is a chance of getting rid of automatic weapons in your legislature.

It's another Monday Mourning. While that is a major drag, on the good news side are the cookies Sara dropped off yesterday (I'm anxious to try those Almond Joy ones) and there's fresh coffee and hot water for the tea and coco crowd.

Keep the old Survivor in your thoughts, prayers, meditations'good vibe' teleportation,, absent-minded musing, etc..
