Summer Love
Summer is the time for vacations, exploring new places, and meeting new people. The chances are pretty high that most of us have had a summer love. Was it something sweet and innocent, or passionate, both fleeting and never meant to last? Did you meet the love of your life?
It doesn't have to be a true story, but summer love is what we are looking for. Is it that first taste of love as a teenager, or are you escaping the tediousness of your day-to-day and finding someone that ignites life back into you?

As always, all categories are open except for micro, musings, play, poetry, and song. That means you can make it a horror, Sci-fi, comedy, fantasy, etc. It doesn't have to go into romance.

Have fun!
Well, I’ll probably be first in because July is crazy at work. And I use a different side of my brain at work then for writing. As I’ve aged, it’s become harder to switch back and forth. I really need to get mine done in next few days. Fortunately, an idea hit early and it’s a “me” story, so moving fast. Biggest obstacle is Butters (cat) chasing words on the screen. 🙄
Here’s my cover pic. As you can tell by the title, my story is weird like me. 😀
I look forward to reading y’all’s entries and I hope a lot of people enter!

We have two!
And just like that, there are three. I love this part of the competition. Checking the queue every day to see who has completed their story and what brilliant idea they've come up with.

I've read the first three competition stories. All of them are excellently written and well worth the time to read. All draw your emotions out. All three have caused me to reevaluate my own story and pause on its submission. Thank you all you have written and entered the competition. I hope to join you soon.

Which is why I usually wait until my own is at least well underway before reading others. 😉 Nothing gives me doubts about my own story faster than reading other entries.
