Couldn't find anything about content restrictions so I left in the 'N' word, nipple. I'll let y'all know what happens.

Just letting you know, they're a very conservative crew of seniors over there...and don't be disappointed if they reject your submission...I sent them my 9/11 poem, which is my most famous work, for an anthology of patriotic stories and poems...and they rejected it...they didn't think it was worth five bucks...so...good luck...

suppose you were asked to provide a constructive critique for the opening of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice:

Believe it or not, I actually read that book...and I probably shouldn't admit it, but before I started writing myself, I could count on one hand the number of novels I've read...

Yeah, I think the general consensus is that a lot of the classics would never make it past an acquisitions editor these days, for various reasons...

We'd probably accept them here on Stories Space though...the mods here are pretty nice that way, from what I hear...

But yeah...I have a strong feeling that someone like James Joyce would have died an unknown if he was born 50 years later...heck, we might even reject his stuff over here...just sayin'
Stories Space now has a Facebook group...it gives SS members a chance to interact in a less formal atmosphere than the forum, and discuss issues that may be considered off limits here...all Stories Space members are welcome btw...check it out my SS friends...

One of my more clear goals was to start writing non-erotica, which is why I made my account here. Well, actually I made my account here to score and comment on a story that I read and loved, but I decided to start writing non-erotica again, too. I think I've managed to succeed in the goal of writing non-erotica and hope to improve more.

Just a note here...I started out writing by writing erotica, on another site, of course...personally, I think writing non-erotic stories is far more challenging...another very talented writer I know, who goes by the name LennyTheLion, and some here will know her...anyway, she made the comment to me back in 2009 that "anyone can write a sex story"...and I think she's right to a large extent...write some trivial piece where two people meet and have sex, and bingo...you have a sex story...in an erotic story, sex is the clear goal...anything on top of that, though a big plus, is sort of "going above and beyond" if you know what I mean...

Another thing I did was explore my feelings. Lots of them. Hope I didn't come off as too emo, but even if I did, I don't really care. Catharsis is the thing that I was trying for and succeeded in that, at least.

Writing can be very cathartic...and if you've succeeded in that...well, I think that is success indeed...

For pieces selected for publication, payment is $20 per poem, $30 per prose piece and $25 per piece of art. In addition, one submission in each category may be selected as a "best of" piece and receive a $100 bonus.

That's not too shabby actually...especially $20.00 per poem...heck, getting paid anything for poetry these days is good...

If you decide to post this over on Facebook, let me know...I'll share the link...everything I post here I post over there as well, in case anyone is interested...

And I post a few things over there that don't make it to this thread...like erotic sub calls and the like that wouldn't be suitable for this site...you know, we have kiddies here...don't want to offend the kiddies...
I just noticed they seem a bit vague about payment there...apparently you get something plus a copy of the magazine, though what exactly they won't say...

My sister and I were recently reminiscing over fond memories of our grandmother's cinnamon toast, so that's my answer to the question of favorite toast topping, at least at the moment — buttered, with a generous sprinkling of cinnamon sugar.

Yeah...my mother used to do the butter and cinnamon thing when I was a kid...haven't had it in years though, but I'll go with that...seems to be a popular choice around here I see...
